BRF reporting in with a Special Game Day Lunch Time Bulletin: Brenner has a.m. "Come to Jesus" talk with doctor. He WILL be playing. In other news, Davis will also be stepping on the field for action tonight. BRF over and out. Go Riders!

50-70% chance of rain on a field that is already a mess.
Wont be pretty tonight.
Hope we find out that the Riders have some fight in them tonight.

Up date: whether Brenner plays or not tonight is in the hands of Coach DaVault. Davis is expected to start.

We will definately find out what this team is made of. I believe this game will be decided in the trenches.....Hopefully we can have a safe and injury free game.
I will admit though I'm a little worried with Davis playing in this weather and a wet/muddy field.....just sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

18 year old kid that worked his butt off for his senior year...I wouldn't want to be the one telling him he needs another week before he is ready.OQB;917378 wrote:We will definately find out what this team is made of. A win is a win and that was a much needed win!!
One week at a time, because as we have seen no game is a "gimme" game in this league this year. We have a very tough test in Ashland next week.
Go Riders!

Well it was a dry night as no rain fell, but a little windy and chilly. We didn't mind at all ! Mason was the man tonight with the first and last touchdowns, somewhere around 160 rushing yards! Only 4 penalties and a couple looked very questionable. Looked like a shootout early on in the 1st half , back and forth to a 21-21 tie at half. Then suddenly defenses woke up in the second half and Mason's 44 yard td was it in the 2nd half. The young men played well all night and kept the Knights top rusher to 60-70 yards when they usually had 1 or 2 guys over 100 in a game. Considering the muddy conditions was happy to see turnovers were at 1 fumble and 2 ints is all I can remember.
In the OCC tonight
Orrville 28
W. Holmes 21
Ashland 38
Senior 6
Madison 15
Lexington 8
woooster 28
Clear Fork 7
(Looks like ringz will start a keep McCreary movement )
OCC standings
Orrville 2-1
Ashland 2-1
Clear Fork 2-1
Madison 2-1
W.Holmes 2-1
woooster 1-2
Senior 1-2
Lexington 0-3
We had no help from our 2nd level teams as Triway, Lexington, and Northwest ( 42-41 in OT) all lost

Next week's game is huge!! I think Ashland has figured things out and put that rough start behind them. We have to be focused all week long and Execute, Execute, Execute, and Execute! One week at a time!

Quick math says we dont jump any higher than 6th in the region at best. worst case is 7th and it will be close with Brookfield. If Canton CC loses tomorrow (doubtful) then we're probably a strong 6th.
We may have to win out just to get a home game.
Not a lot of points on the table for the Ashland game, but it's big for other reasons.

Quite an effort tonight by our Riders. No Brenner, No Tyrone White, Mason with one hand, Davis with half a knee it would have been very easy to pack it in on a crappy field against a team on a roll. That is four starters....3 of which are senior captains and we had a stellar effort from the entire team. That was a big victory. When you can come up against all those odds on the road. Very Very proud of the Riders effort. Some real Rider fans made the trip tonight...proud of them as well. Not a pretty start weather wise but turned out alright. Field was crap....as usual....never saw grass that high!
