Good points OQB. I like the idea of bunching them together then at the last second splitting apart. If anything it may distract the punter.

I saw Ashland do this last year with their kickoff return guys....and it worked pretty well. I think it is worth it to take a look at it in practice, then if the coaches think they can maximize the production on punt returns why not do it?

Actual OHSAA rankings for top 12 teams, Actually up before Eitels site!

1. Girard 5-0
2. Norwayne 5-0
3. Canton Central 4-1
4. Black River 5-0
5. Brookfield 5-0
6. LaBrae 4-1
7. Manchester 3-2
8. Orrville 3-2
9. Beachwood 4-1
10 Cleve.Central 3-2
11 Streetsboro 3-2
12 Pymatuning Valley 4-1

Hmmmmm! With a loss we fell to #8 and out of the playoff picture, no wait 8 teams go from each region, so those that say we needed to win out go kick yourselves.
A win against the Knights could move us to 3rd or 4th next week, so quit with your negativity and let the boys play the season and talk all you want after the season is over, but let the coaches and players play it out and see where we stand when 10 game are played!

Also Copley is #6 in Region 5, Northwest is 4th in a very strong Region 11 where W.Holmes is tied at #8 with Dover behind teams like Steubenville, Sheridan, and Mooney U.
Genoa is #3 and Clear Fork is #6 in Region 14 behind #1 Kenton.

Great post! Let's get a win Friday in Millersburg! Its time to turn it up boys as we enter the second half of the season and focus on the task at hand each week. All of our goals are still there for the taking!

Thanks to Mike Plant for some bulletin board material from today's Daily Record!

Another funny note, if we would have lost to Triway and be at 2-3, we would still be #8 in the region, so thank you Northwest and Lexington for the points. So 7-3 and maybe 6-4 could still get someone in in this region ;)

At this point 2 teams ahead of Orrville only have 6 wins total from their remaining 5 games, Canton Central ( 1,2,1,0,2 wins)and Brookfield (3,1,0,1,1). Brookfield has 3 of those 6 wins for points Friday when they play 3-2 Niles so they must win to have a chance to stay up in the top 8! A loss and they could be 9-1 and on the bubble!

Beachwood (1,2,5,4,5) has the most wins by 5 remaining opponents with 17
Girard (4,3,3,4,0) and Orrville (4,1,4,3,2 ) 14
Labrae (4,0,3,5,1) 13
Black River (1,3,3,5,0) and Norwayne (3,0,0,4,5) 12
Manchester (2,3,0,2,3) 10
Cleve. Central (3,1,2,0,2) 8
Streetsboro (4,1,3,4,1) 13

Of course you have to also take in account Orrville's 14 wins available are mostly D2 and D3 points not D4, D5, D6 that most of the other teams will pick up.

Genoa plays #2 Pemberville Eastwood, in Region 14 at home in Week 10. Should be a dandy! If nothing else I'm buying 5 arm lengths of 50/50 tickets LOL

Good chance both could be 9-0 going into that week 10 showdown.

Combined records of their opponents between now and then are 14-26. On paper the chances are extremely good.

Genoa will hold up their end of the 9-0 record, it's up to Eastwood. That will be a huge matchup, but I think Genoa continues to dominate their schedule.

Heard some rumblings about some who might play and others who won't. Anyone know the injury status for the team going in to tomorrow's game?

The only one I've heard is Drew and I don't even know if that was true or not, but we are pretty banged up right now.

Pretty sure i saw Drew on crutches today. Hasn't practiced all week so i'd call him real doubtful right now.
