Mason named one of JJHuddle's top 200 seniors....
Copley RB Argeros Turner has been offered by Illinois as well. Week 3 will be extra fun this year.Mason Monheim, LB, 6-1, 215, Orrville
Some guys have a knack for finding the ball. Monheim is one of them. The reigning Ohio Cardinal Conference Defensive POY, Monheim tallied 190 tackles, including a staggering 36 for-loss, last season. He had 100 tackles as a sophomore. So far, Illinois and Miami (Ohio) have offered.

Lets all enjoy the ride.
...then hopefully I'm "riding" down 71 South to "the Shoe" over the next several years to continue to watch him play!

What are the chances of Orrville going div. 5 for next year? Is the Davis kid " l think his name, wrestles 189" a football player? Inexperienced wrestler, but looks like a athletic kid.

We are pretty much in the middle of the pack DIV. I don't see us dropping much. Davis is a fantastic LB and RB. Will see the field most every play next year. Pretty sure he was our 2nd leading tackler at the "will" LB spot. Very fast, strong kid. Hard worker. Glad to have him in the Rider uniform...that's for sure.

DIV was 177 to 251 last season, we had 211, so we were in the middle, so unless some drastic numbers change we should stay DIV. The question will be if we change regions with this next setting of divisions, as over the years we have been in NW, NE, and SE regions.

I asked coach Davault this a few weeks ago if he thought we would go back to Region 13 or stay in 14. We have a better shot at going deep in the playoffs in 14, but makes a little more sense (geographically) to be in region 13. Hard to say, we are right on the border to both regions. I say it depends on those schools in region 13 that either moved up (mooney, Stueby) or moved down (Ursuline).
Man the more I think about my senior year region 13 was stacked! Mooney, Steubenville, CCC, St. Vincent St. Mary, CVCA, Perry...

The one thing to look forward to if we move back to region 13 is it would set up our next possible meeting with Genoa in State Semis or Finals! How fun would that be.

That would be lots of fun! I bet the Genoa faithful would stay a little more level-headed this time around. I think we will stay in Region 14, unless Genoa has some inside source working for the OHSAA...then we will be in region 13!

lol that would make a win over Genoa that much better (although the past two have been really awesome, only makes sense to push the meeting back yet another week to week 14)....I hope we stay in 14 as well, but you just never know where you will end up.

I am only posting this here because I know the right people will see, and I do realize it is a bit off topic, but that has never stopped me before:
Congratulations to Miss Monheim on her aquatic success this past week. Your family has been nothing but pure class to me, and I am enjoying watching their successes.

You mean an offensive lineman with varsity experience on a play off team, might be of interest to the red riders? Let me think about it.OQB;694122 wrote:Hey Ringz sounds like you are becoming a big time Red Rider Follower.....if the housing situation over there in Wooster gets any worse we have a lot of homes for sale here in Orrvillelol

...and a QB, but I guess he was only a soph so we will see how he develops this summer. Im just not sold YET! I didn't see vast improvements from weeks 3-4 to weeks 12-13. Yes a couple of good games here and there but..OQB;694837 wrote:We are in big need of some offensive lineman! lol

He will have 14 starts under his belt and should have the offense and what they are trying to accomplish down. Towards the end of the year I saw him directing the players around like he was a 3 year starter....I think we will be fine, just hope we can put together a line that gives him some time to throw.
