I will give Gee the WAC. That's a bad conference. But he is way off on the MTN West. The MTN West is better than the ACC and Big East (his BCS brethern).

Honestly, I have no idea whether Boise or TCU deserve a chance to play for the National Championship. But that is why they should settle it on the field. TCU and Boise have both been very impressive this year.

I love how he mocks their conferences and says they need to "run the (Big 10) gauntlet." Pretty easy for the BCS conferences to say, right? I am guessing Boise and TCU would love to play in the Big 10.

Now if we are just going to discuss the elite teams, let's look at OSU, and the closing lines:
Illinois - average?? (-16)
Indiana - cupcake (-24.5)
Wisconsin - elite (-4)
Purdue - cupcake (-23.5)
Minnesota - cupcake (-23.5)
Penn State - average (-20)
Iowa - average (-3)
Michigan - average (-19.5)

Of the 8 games, 1 elite, 4 average and 3 cupcakes. And two of those average schools are predicted to lose by nearly 3 TD's and a 3rd by 2 TD's.

You could certainly look at the Big East and ACC and it would be worse.

I'll give some props to the Pac 10 and Big 12 and the SEC really is a grind.

But it will cost Nebraska a million to play them at their place?

Kinda hard to play the 'woe is me" card with those kind of demands. Then of course there's the independent option.

Yeah Gee really picked a bad time to compare schedules. In addition to being Big 10 champions this year, we can also be MAC champions! haha

They are playing Georgia next year and played Va Tech this past season. It would be one thing if they talked a big game and ultimately scheduled Vanderbilt, but they are scheduling key OOC games.

Definitely not a very PC thing for a college prez to say, but,

1) G Gee doesn't work for College Gameday- who cares what his opinion is on strength of schedule, BCS title game, etc.? He opposes a playoff- that disqualifies him from any intelligent discussion on college football entirely. ;)

2) He's right. Ohio State's weak OOC schedule = Boise St. & TCU conference schedule. Similarly, for every impressive OOC win by Boise St & TCU, Ohio State has 2 decent conf wins.

Yeah, thankfully he comes off more of a fan rather than a spokesman. His timing was awful on the subject, and there's really no "context" to blame.

Honestly, they only have to prepare for 2. After looking at the spreads, I guess their next toughest game was Illinois. I was originally giving Penn State too much credit.

So scheduling i legit OOC game per season is called scheduling key OCC games but when OSU does the same thing, (1 tough OOC game per year) they are scheduling cupcake city. I just want to understand where you're coming from. Boise's league schedule is extremely weak so 1 tough OOC game does not make you a title contender. TCU has played a weak OOC schedule as well as a very poor league schedule.

I really dont understand why ESPN ran a story on what this guy thinks. They might as well ask my opinion and write a story. I dont get it, is he trying to push OSU up in the rankings? To rip on a team's schedule is laughable when you play a schedule like OSU did this year.

I'm not defending their schedule, as it turned out it kinda blows. Gee isn't comparing them either imo. He just got caught looking like he was. This season has been the exception for TCU/Boise, their defeated opponents continue to play well, thus their ranking. History shows that has not been the case.

I know you prepare for every team. But I think you can see the evidence. OSU played 2 quality opponents this year, one of they lost to and another that has 4 losses.

My point is that as Buckeye fans it's hard to criticize Boise and TCU's schedule, given the reality of OSU's schedule. If a Alabama fan wants to criticize, that's fine.

Sagarin has OSU's schedule at 59. Boise's at 73. And TCU at 68.

No one is saying Boise's schedule is better than OSU. Just that neither is overly impressive.

And I don't know much about the Sagarin rankings, but does it only factor in wins, or every opponent? OSU lost to Wisconsin, so what if we are only talking about teams on the schedule they beat?
