The "super teams" like Hendricks, Roush and Richard Childress need broke up. The cars no longer exactly the same.

Quit breaking up the drivers in the infield. No doubt the ratings would at least double if they'd let Ryan Newman get a few shots in on Joey Logano.

Maybe if they had one Monster Truck that would come tearing out of the infield at random times during the race and all the drivers had to try and dodge it or get crushed that would lively things up a bit. I know this would appeal to the average NASCAR fan's intelligence level.

Read 99% of your posts. You have the nerve to talk about someone else's intelligence level? It's cute of you to go around following me in threads though. Attempting, failing, but at least attempting to take little shots at me every chance you get. It's creepy, but cute. You looking in my window right now? Is that you I see sitting across the street? Post about country music coming up next? You're predictable, and pathetic. Do the world a favor would ya? Go on a fishing trip, tie the anchor to your ankles, and drop the anchor overboard. Finally do something that would make your mother proud!

And yes, I'm sure this is where you become all NCF, and start talking about you being a puppet master and pulling everyone's strings. But nah, don't get too excited. The only reason I replied is because you're getting fucking annoying. That's all. Go cry some more Tearnan because you can't make fun of some high school kids. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

At this point I am only watching 1 race next year (Daytona)

This Chase system is setup perfectly for Johnson to win every year because the 10 chase races are his best tracks it seems.

NASCAR was perfect in my opinion with the way the championship was determined before.

This chase format waters it down quite a bit.

Hopefully it does die. Nascar is a complete waste of oil, that is about all it is good for. I can't believe people even call it a "sport."

On a side note: lol at Tiernan, he has no room to talk, he is the same guy that said fishing is a "sport."

Any truth to the rumor that Jimmie failed a pre race inspection 2 weeks ago and nothing was done about it?

Had someone tell me that yesterday and it really wouldnt surprise me.

The bonehead move of the race on Sunday was Hamlin's Crew Chief having him stay out and not get the tires.

I like the chase and they are switching up tracks as the previous ones Jimmy did dominate. Good post from you though.

Not a NASCAR fan, but it seems silly to me to try to compete with the NFL. I don't have a solution, but putting your 'playoff' races on at 1 PM on Sunday afternoon in the fall is suicide. Everything that tries to compete with the NFL gets crushed.

There really isn't a difference in ratings or attendance from February to September and September to November when football is in season. So I don't think that's playing a big of factor into it as many think. I mean, attendance is down, yes, but they are still filling 80 to 90,000 seats at races. Economy is playing a big part in the attendance numbers.

NASCAR is not dead because Johnson has won 5 in a row.

Did NASCAR die when Petty was winning 200 races, 7 championships? I know he won 7 championships in like 30 years, but 200 races? When they were only running about 20-25/year then?

Why not keep the top 10/12 for a chase, but, dont reset the points? Then its still like a playoff with only 10/12 teams competing, but would still have that old school feel of the points not resetting.

I know what has killed the NNS for me, is all the regulars running every week and winning. When you have THREE regulars winning 26 of the NNS races every year, and the championship, THAT is a turn off.

I think they should limit you to running ONE series full time, and part time up to 15 races in the other two series.

Kyle Busch winning 30 races a year, is getting old. And dont give me this bull that it is just because he is that good. I could use the same argument for Jimmie winning 5 in a row, but people are pissed about that.

I definitely think the Cup regulars need to be excluded from the Championship contention, but I dont think u will see them completely disallowed from running in the Nationwide series. Most people go just to watch the big boys. I'd bet Nationwide revenues would drop 40-50% if they banned Cup regular.

And, ummm, Kyle is that damn good.

You dont honestly believe Johnson winning so much isn't hurting the sport do u? Come on coyote, even ur smarter than that. Comparing something of then and now is apples to oranges, burt the difference is, Petty was a fan favorite, unlike Johnson. Plus, Petty wasn't the only one winning. Cale, the Allisons, Pearson, they were all winning too. People loved seeing Petty vs Pearson then. Pearson would beat Petty just as often as Petty would beat Pearson. Johnson doesn't have someone rivaling him.

NASCAR didn't die when Petty was winning 200 races, nor is it "dead" now (despite my thread title), but when you think about the popularity surge that happened between around 1990-2005 its actually probably dropped to its popularity levels of the 70's which is shocking. NASCAR was probably more popular than the post-Jordan pre-LeBron NBA, and definitely more popular than the NHL. But with the NHL and NBA both making great strides in recent years, NASCAR is moving backwards not forwards.

I don't quite see what the point of that would be? I believe that the number I heard before, under the old format, with 10 races to go, the farthest back anyone was able to come back and win the Championship was 4th place? If you don't reset the points, there really isn't a point of having a 'Chase' format.
