I have to laugh at the people who think white people are afraid and hate every other race simply because they aren't white. There is obviously hate in the world but it doesn't just go one way. I'm from a town where there were maybe 5 or 6 black kids in the whole high school but if I went to a bigger city and walked past black people all day it wouldn't bother me one bit. Now if I walked past a group of younger black guys dressed in "gangster garb" I would be more concerned. I've never been around Asians or Hispanics dressed like that so that is why I didn't add them to the list.

I coach at a mostly to damn near all white school and when we play the teams from Lima such as North South and West the kids are almost like deer in headlights and don't know how to handle the loud and semi hostile crowd. For the most part when they get to know someone of different race they are fine. I think its mostly just not being exposed and realizing that people are people.
Why do other races feel like white people are afraid? Why can't people be apprehensive about other races because of no interaction or bad experiences as oppose to being afraid? Im not afraid of any race...I hate everyone.
I agree with this. In my high school, we probably only had 1 or 2 black kids in the school at any one time. All other schools in the area, minus Chillicothe, are 98% white. Any time you are put in a position you are unfamiliar with, you tend to be a little apprehensive. So you take someone from an area that is basically all white, and put them in an area with a mix of ethnicities, they're likely going to be a little uneasy. I think most people that go to college or get jobs in big organizations overcome the uneasiness pretty easily. Let's face it though, there is still flat out racism out there, and it not specific from one ethnicity to another.

All races when in a group (three or more) of their races demonstrate boldness. Within a group a more predatory behavior is supported. However once that individual is take outside the group and is in a situation of one on one the behavior changes a level of less superiority is displayed. Potentially a behavior of verbal aggression is displayed in a one on one but no physical actions are presented normally. Why? Fear and or less self confidence of their ability

All races have fear of each other, all individuals have fear of others to some point.
Knowing that fear and controlling that emotion and directing it to a positive force is the key.

We all hurt, bleed, feel pain and have emotions….. Human just like me and you …

Ink, Bling and Tats ..Oh my! Nice display of what? That does not tell me anything about the person ability to do anything physical …tells me a lot about the person morals and values.

First he has a Christian Cross so there is some signs of some morals and beliefs, second what with the bullet vest concern for his safety …touch of fear, those hands tucked under the arms is that to make muscles look bigger and stronger… lack of self confidence being displayed.

Maybe I should have made a "bolded" quote for you? You seem to think that works.

I agree with the statement that people are uneasy because they don't have exposure.

Take myself for example. I grew up thinking and being told I was white/Native American because of the town I grew up in (My mom wanted to protect me because a biracial child wouldn't have flown at that time). Just a few months ago (March 2010), I found my biological father and found out that he is black. Growing up, I felt uneasy when we would go up to Lima/Toledo/Cincinnati.... because there were a lot of black people around, mostly because they were strangers. When I met my dad, step mom, grandma, aunt, and siblings, I felt 100% comfortable because I was "one of them" and I met quite a few black people in college and working in Bowling Green.
My wife is from a Detroit Suburb and knew <5 black people from high school, college, and work combined. She admitted to me that she felt awkward at my dad's house because she was "the minority" and never had an extensive amount of interaction with black people. My dad lives in Shaker Hts and took us to a street fair when we met. My wife felt REALLY out of place because she was 1 of about 10 white people in a crowd of a couple hundred.

I don't think other races should be used in this forum. It's PROBABLY Blacks, Hispanics, and Arabs. All 3 of these groups' fears can be credited to the media. It's rare that these 3 groups are portrayed in a positive light in the news, television, movies, sports.... I'm only 24, but I know that the Cosby Show and Family Matters were big deals in the 80s and 90s because of the way they portrayed black people in suburbia. Can you imagine if there was a sit-com today about a traditional Islamic family aka what we imagine terrorists to be?

The big difference is that one of those three races has a culture that unfortunately promotes that "I'm tough. Respect me." look brought about by the gross lacking of male father figures. I will catch plenty of flack for this, but I think a lot of contemporary racism is created the respective race.
I don't fear this as much as I just think they are lower in intelligence.

Clothing doesn't dictate one's mental capacity.

I know more than one person with at least a Masters degree that dresses in a similar fashion.

He's got a doctorate, and he's one of the people in the world I admire most.

Truth is, saying someone "looks like a (insert any non-physical attribute-focused noun)" is an ignorant statement. Being less intelligent doesn't keep you from being dressed well, and being VERY intelligent doesn't exclude you from dressing to fit the subculture around you.

Clothing is culture-based, not IQ-based.

Since I go to college with a pretty good mix of blacks and asians now, it doesn't seem to phase me. Most of them are generally good people who are working hard studying to make a good life for themselves. Hell, some of them are too afraid to screw up because its their first time anyone in their family has gone to college. Some of them dress in the "I'm tough respect me" mold, but it doesnt' phase me.

From what I remember, they tended to not get along very well.
