I know that ND fans have been down on their team, but I would think that a couple of very nice wins here at the end of the season are reason to have some hope for the near future.

Exactly. It's not that the Irish fans are complacent...and that they feel like the Irish going 7-5 every year would be a good thing.

Instead, we are all very excited that with a new coach, a new system, and a boat load of injuries...the team strung together 3 solid wins to give hope for future years. After being 6-2 and then losing 4 straight games to end last season...being able to come out and beat Utah, Army, and USC to close out this season is an improvement. I can't speak for all ND fans, but that's what I want to see. I want to see an improvement from the team...and I have this year.

The next few seasons of Notre Dame football should be very fun!

I for one had said throughout all of the off-season that the defense would be much better. (How could it not? :D ) But I didn't expect the defense to perform as well as it did against Tulsa, Utah, Army, and Southern Cal. This last month of defense has been remarkable; and it's even more remarkable considering their defensive MVP, Ian Williams, was out. Bob Diaco has complete faith from this guy. Navy game was embarrassing but no one is perfect.

7-5 is 7-5. But I said in preseason that there would be a way they'd win any game, and lose any game but Western Michigan and Army. In hindsight, I think I was pretty freakin' correct on both accounts. This team could very well be 11-2 right now. Stanford was just better in every facet of the game and Navy severely outcoached Diaco. This team, after switching both offense and defense, and then losing Rudolph, Crist, Allen, Williams, Slaughter, Calabrese, Floyd, Jones, and Riddick throughout various points and portions of the season...was still remarkably close to 11-2. Brian Kelly and his staff are tremendous.

Is the SC receiver who had the potential game-winning TD pass bounce off his shoulder pads from Tennessee also? That would be some big-time karma.

ND fans, don't think or let any of these haters tell you otherwise, that was a HUGE win for the program and Brian Kelly! Kudos to DC Diacco for turning the defense around, they have played top notch football the last three weeks and if they can get some elite talent at the Dline position.......sky's the limit with Te'o on board for two more years!
