Idk, exactly how it works but I don't think it's any secret the private schools have some advantages when it comes to getting good football players, more so than publics getting players via OE.
However, this situation has always reminded me of the BoSox before they finally won the WS in '04. It used to annoy the heck out of me when those Boston fans would cry about the Yanks unfair advantage and they won because they just bought a good team every season.
Meanwhile teams like the D Backs, Marlins, Angels, etc were too busy beating the "unbeatable" Yankees to cry about how unfair the NYY advantage was.
In the end those are 16 17 n 18 year olds. No matter how much a team (private or public) resembles an all star team , they can and will be defeated.
Coldwater is a a perfect example of this. In '07 they took their hometown boys all the way across tbe state and beat a top 10 NATIONALLY RANKED Mooney team for a state title.
No reason any other school can't do the same. Rarely are one of these poor little us schools going to have to face a NATIONALLY RANKED team.
