Go MOONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!sherm03;980613 wrote:Whatever you say man...
D1: 2 privates (St. Iggy and St X) and 2 publics (Whitmer and Pick Central) in the semis.
D2: 4 publics (Aurora, Avon, Trotwood-Madison, Marion Franklin) in the semis.
D3: 1 private (Mooney) and 3 publics (Chagrin Falls, Elida, Springfield Shawnee) in the semis.
D4: 4 publics (Norwayne, Johnston-Monroe, Kenton, Clinton-Massie) in the semis.
D5: 4 publics (Kirtland, Bucyrus Wynford, Coldwater, Hicksville) in the semis.
D6: 1 private (Delphos St. John's), 3 publics (Berlin Center, New Washington Buckeye Central, Maria Stein Marion Local)
So it looks like you get AT LEAST 50% of the titles this year. D6 State Championship will be decided this coming weekend between Delphos and Marion Local. D1 and D3 still have the possibility of no private schools in the title game.
Good thing everyone wants the playoffs split. It would give the private schools a little better chance to get more titles.
I like how he just ignored the whole "only 4 of 24 semifinalists are privates" part (maybe because he'd have had to add up numbers, which might be beyond him, to come up with that total) to attempt making a point that has nothing to do with that.sherm03;980688 wrote:"The video you requested is not available."

50% aint too bad...but considering Just 14% of the entire playoffs were Privates.....I would assume 68% - 84% a little more realistic when talking numbers of Championshipssherm03;980613 wrote:Whatever you say man...

Even by this site's standards of idiot trolls, he's on a whole 'nother level. I'd say it's the "too stupid to even make fun of" level, but, no, it's still entertaining to do that, so he's not there yet.
When people bring this up...I just have to shake my head. This line of thinking just makes no sense at all.1_beast;980852 wrote:50% aint too bad...but considering Just 14% of the entire playoffs were Privates.....I would assume 68% - 84% a little more realistic when talking numbers of Championships

The AL East makes up about 16% of the MLB teams. Yet, since 1994 (when MLB went to three divisions in each league) the AL East has won 41% of the championships. They must be cheaters, right? They should probably have their own playoffs.
The point is, just because a few teams (in the analogy the Yankees and BoSox) win a bunch of championships, doesn't mean you should penalize everyone associated with them (like the Orioles and the Blue Jays). Why penalize all the private schools by forcing them into their own playoffs because Mooney, Delphos St. John's, Iggy, and St. Ed win a lot of titles? It just doesn't make sense.september63;981002 wrote:Not your best analogy Sherm. Since 2 of the BIGGEST $$$ spending teams are in AL East.
LOL...Now that you mention it...and factor in the Yankees and Redsox payrolls.....perhaps you ARE comparing apples to apple...sherm03;980981 wrote:When people bring this up...I just have to shake my head. This line of thinking just makes no sense at all.

According to Skank the Yankees and Red Sox spend squat compared to the parochial schools. Everyone knows that the parochial schools will spend any amount to win a high school football game. I knew a guy who knew a guy whose brother in law knew a guy who said the parochial schools spend millions to win. :rolleyes:1_beast;981207 wrote:LOL...Now that you mention it...and factor in the Yankees and Redsox payrolls.....perhaps you ARE comparing apples to apple...

It's unbelievable that the hardworking students at these schools get all the accolades while Private school kids get called cheaters for the success that they have.
P.S. After my team won state, leaving the stadium fans from the opposing team yelled things like; recruits, cheaters, and "we'd kick your "butt" if we recruited. All of this with me knowing that every player on my team (except one 6th grade) were classmates of mine since kindergarten.

That's because those schools win a lot of titles on the field. And guess what? They are public schools.skank;981261 wrote:You guys kill me, always use the same couple of schools as an example. You do realize the are approx 750 football playing schools in Ohio, with MOST being public....Right?
And if Mr. Kasich has his way it's going to get worse for you before it gets better.skank;981266 wrote:Never said that, but now that you mention it, looks like vouchers are the new, "free agency".

Thank you for admitting that I'm right. :thumbup:skank;981278 wrote:Ok ok, I give in, you're right I guess, two or three publics win "a lot" of titles, (out of approx 680), so I guess everything is fair.

The Yankees, Cardinals, Athletics, and Red Sox have won 50% of all World Series played (thats out of 107 World Series!) and make up only ~13% of the league.
The Lakers, Celtics, and Bulls have won 63% of all NBA Finals played and make up only 10% of the league.
So basically.....all sports are dominated by a few teams, none of them are fair.
