Good football programs win. It isn't about being public or private. There are many public programs that are good, and there are many private programs that are bad.

I didn't just "hang my hat" on Coldwater and Marion (actually didn't even mention Coldwater). I did, however, point out 6 other public schools that have at least won 2 state titles in D5 and D6. Marion Local and St. Henry both winning 4. Like Al Bundy said, it has nothing to do with public or private. Good programs win and bad ones don't. Good programs don't whine and complain, bad ones do. Simple as that. My guess is that your program is one of the bad ones, therefore someone has to be bending the rules.

I know YOU didn't mention Coldwater, Wormer did. You seem to concentrate on the smaller schools, which, judging by your screen name, I understand. Things aren't so peachy in DI, where MY interests are. Since 2000, 7 of the 11 champions have been parochial, three of them being multiple winners in St I, St X, and Elder. I could go on, but actually, if you want more info, read through the thread, I'm not going to get in to all the numbers again. Btw, your guess would be wrong, MY guess is that the parochial school OC posters are down playing their situation in the same way that rich old man that married Anna Nicole Smith, downplayed money being an issue in their marriage.

This also applies to D1. Good football programs win. It isn't about being public or private. There are many public programs that are good, and there are many private programs that are bad.

When it comes to the bigger schools I can't really comment on the issue. I'm not really familiar with how big schools operate, and I don't comment on things I don't know anything about.

Of the OHSAA 24 regions there are two private schools with the #1 seed (Regions 5 and 10). So, if the publics just do what they should then chances are there will be no private schools in the state championship games.

Question for you. Approximately Privates make up 15% of all schools. How many in the playoffs. By region use 32 as denominator. I bet its more then 15%. D-3 I see 10/32 which is 31.25%. I'm being a little selfish because that's all i care about but that's double.

EHHHH dont try using numbers and logic with these clowns...they only look through the peep hole. Stats dont mean anything, us publics need to make our kids tougher, practice harder..blah, blah, blah

How many of those are there? I think 75-80% of public schools are open enrollment now. Pulling in kids from all over.

Clearly you did not read my posts earlier in this thread where all I showed were stats and figures that it's just a small number of schools (both private and public) that have won and continue to win state championships.

Yes, private schools make up 15% of the total number of schools. But of that...only 36 private schools have won at least 1 state championship.

The flaw in your logic (and the logic of the people who think the parochial schools are cheaters) is that you believe that all schools have the exact same chance to make the playoffs and win a state championship every year. They don't. Some schools have young coaches who are still learning things. Some schools have an undersized line that can't match up. Some schools are hit with injuries. The bottom line, some schools have a better chance at winning a state championship than others for a variety of reasons. To say that it is not right that private schools only make up 15% of the schools, but 30% of the teams in the D3 playoffs, is just wrong. Regions are not set up on a perfectly even basis...which skews numbers.

So don't try to act like everyone on here is so open to stats and logic. Because that's all I've used. And people just completely overlook them.

From a basketball perspective, Garfield Hts gets to state with almost all of their players from outside Garfield Hts (last year all were), Taft wins state with a bunch of transfers. Sorry, I'm a public school guy but I can't support separate championships until the excesses at public schools are addressed. We all know privates have a huge advantage. I'm just not sure I want to trade one system of recruiting for another.

you just proved my argument open enrollment was an attempt to level the playing field. I just proved to you this band aid that OHSAA came up with to satisfy the public schools has not leveled the playing field. I understand nothing will be done. But to say that the problem has been resolved is incorrect. Can you explain how one year Mooney had 9 d-1 collage players on the same team from a random population of a small town equivalent to the size of mooney. I would also like to point out that Private schools can also manipulate there size they can make themselves a D-2 or D-3 or other just by limiting enrollment. A public school can't do that. Also where do the at risk kids go to school, or the people that ride the small bus. They go to the public school and have to be counted in total enrollment. The private school just tells those student they can't go to Mooney or other private school. If the private school has problems with a student they can have them removed. The public school can't do that. Again I understand nothing will be done. But the problem exists.
