When the media gets inside of your team like they have. You might want to can the ownership above the coach. I would call it a disaster waiting to happen.

Marvin Lewis is a very good coach. If this mess takes him out, it will be a very bad move.

He may be a good coach but he needs to be in a better situation. The Bengals will never be good for more than a year at a time while Mike Brown is in charge. It's a shame, as a Cincinnati resident I hate to see them do badly even though I am not a fan.

Still here.

However, the NFL is so up and down, it's easy to basically write this year off as a lost cause knowing next year (if there is a season) they could easily contend again.

The NFL is a year by year league.

I'm ashamed to say I agree with the Troll. Marvin Lewis needs to go. They've had 2 seasons over .500 with him there in 8 seasons and lost the first playoff game both times. Ehh not that great.

anyone who has been a Bengal fan has been through more than their share of 4-12 seasons, so this is nothing new....

As a Marvin Lewis fan, I have to sadly say that probably a change is in order.....perhaps the combination of weak and incompetent ownership and outrageous on field personalities is not the ideal fit for a Lewis regime....

and, again a sad admission, I am beginning to think that Palmer has risen to the level of his own incompetence.


As far as the Browns go....by my reading, the Super Bowl tally still comes up Bengals 2.....Browns 0....................so the old lake lickers can suck on that.

Hey, the Browns have the most recent playoff win. Even by taking 3 years off. Not only that, but the Browns have the most recent victory :)

How did this become a Cincy vs Cleveland thing anyway? It should be a everybody vs Capone thing.

they did pretty well last season with Marvin Lewis.....swept a tough division...hard to blame it on the coach. I doubt he is coaching any differently than last year.....How about getting rid of Carson Palmer?

Marvin is a good coach. Carson is a good quarterback. They have both had horrible times in the NFL. The question is quite simply. Have both peaked? If so, you have to replace them and hope there is more upside with another coach and/or quarterback. That's about as simple as it gets.

To a degree, but this thread has been more civil than most if you ignore Capone. A lot of threads have multi-page arguments where he's at most, on the periphery trying to get attention.
