Not a Hoover person..but there is no replacing Erick Howard. Gonna be a tough year next year IMO.

Hoover will still be competative, they should win the Fed and make a long playoff run, possibly ending in a State Title.

It will not be easy to replace Erick Howard but I am sure there are plenty of guys who have been waiting for this opportunity. I don't see the Vikings struggling because of the loss of one player, however good that guy was.

For two years and from what I hear Hoover faithful saying...they are very thin for the next couple of years. They will be competitive, but not like the last couple of years. I don't care what they say...they are going to miss Erick Howard BIG TIME.

Hoover High School head football coach Don Hertler Jr. had a belly laugh when he was asked about the “stud running back who transferred” to North Canton from Texas.

Hoover didn’t get a huge running back from Texas, but the Vikings’ offseason cupboards weren’t left bare either.

Shamus Johnson is a 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback who moved into the district after his father was transferred to the North Canton area for work.

“He’s going to be a nice addition to our team,” Hertler said, “but he’s not a big running back.”

Johnson, who will be a senior, played at Mayde Creek High School in Houston last season.
Glad he can laugh it off, if it was Massillon, people would be asking for every head in Massillon on a silver platter. But, its ok, its just Hoover, laugh it off.

Take it easy on Don Hertler, it was pure and simply a business move, you can't have dorm rooms in your basement and leave them sit empty.

My mom moved there to be Donnys FULL TIME bartender, she works 16 hrs a day, 7 days a week.
