why would we have a runningback just run right at the middle linebacker? why not block him?

Excuse me for assuming you had some football knowledge! An isolation play means you double down on either the nose or tackle run your lead back to take care of the filling backer....hence the isolation....the play is relatively new to football, maybe first was used about 150 years ago! Nope...watched that over and over last year. He didn't see it coming...but it was clean.
Whatever makes you feel better about it....

The OHSAA anounced state semi-final pairings. Its 13 v. 14 and 15 v. 16. just though you might want to know which game you should be getting updates on Friday.

^^not gonna be a jerk about it....but that was dicussed a few pages back.
Winner gets the winner of Manchester/Chagrin Falls.
I guess I like the fact that whoever represents Northern Ohio in the state finals will be a public school.

RR1, I watched the game last night on WMFD....
When you click on this link:
http://www.wmfd.com/gameroom/
scroll down to where it says:
Watch WMFD TV Game of the Week On-Demand
Genoa vs Clear Fork
Click on the WMFD sports logo on the left and it will bring up another window.
From there, you just scroll down and click on the first video link "watch now" and that will be the CF/Genoa game.

Biggest key to stopping Genoa on offense is to quit thinking and just react. Way to many players get caught thinking instead of focusing on their keys and consequently get burned. The comet's are not reinventing the wheel on offense but they do execute almost perfectly.

Also from a comet hater, i'd just like to say that this years comet team is not as talented as last years. However they are about 110% less cocky and take a blue collar approach to the game. You don't see these kids line dancing or acting like st.peter opened the gates of heaven after a touchdown.

What about the obscene gestures? I'm assuming those are WAY down also. Barring that act of immaturity, Genoa was a very fun team to watch last season.

Vicars himself jokes about it being a "middle school" offense. Execution is key.

Say what you will tink, but my son was a terrible dancer before, now he's only slightly awful. There are a lot of lessons to be learned on a football field...

Really good feeling knowing we are a couple of the 48 teams all divisions left practicing high school football even if the weather outside stinks today!!

I usually post on some of the other forums but I love all the posts. It just took me over an hour to read through everything. There are some good points being made. Keep it up. I live out of state so I don't get to see any of the games. I listen to them on streaming audio and my dad tells me his thoughts from going to the games.
Just reading all the posts gets me excited for Ohio High School football. Thanks...I try to go to the games here in TN and there is no comparison. I rather sit home and listen to Ohio games on the internet.
One thing my dad tells me is that Genoa is unselfish and quick. He also believes a team that passes the ball might give Genoa fits if they can keep the pressure off the QB.
I am hoping for a Genoa win but I feel it is going to be a nail biter. I am hoping Genoa and Orrville can have a friendly playoff rival every year. As long as Vicars is coach I can't imaging Genoa not being in the playoffs and Orrville has always had the history.

Very nice article in today's paper about Turner. I sure am happy he is a Red Rider!!
In other news, I read on a certain Twitter account that Sports Time Ohio will be interviewing some of the riders this week. Not sure what they are doing with it though.

^^Certain someone.
STO does that preview show on Friday at 3:30pm. I bet we get a little more in-depth coverage this week. Show ends at 5pm...right about the time everyone will leave for Avon Lake.

Hey, I was just looking at the stats for this thread on who has posted. Out of 358 posts, at that time, guess who has made 25% of them? ha ha!

My first post.....Go Riders!!! Can't wait for Friday. "The key is not the will to win... everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important" from Bobby Knight. Keep preparing young Riders.
