Thunder and lightening either wait it out or move inside. That is different.

And by the way Red Rider 1 and QB FYI weather within a couple miles of the lake shore this time of year makes it not as cold at night because of the warmer water temp....hence all the grapes along the North Coast of Ohio. Therefore we will be a couple degrees warmer at night than down here. what is ya' ignorant?

Practice inside....sheeece....next thing we'll be
wearing purple!
I believe the last sentence of your post is a personal attack, and those are forbidden on this forum dog.

It's "dawg"...aight?!

BTW, BRF believes that there has been an OC record set on this thread for number of n00bs joining.

No surprise Orville is holding down the top spots in the post count - sheesh! - no way we can compete with that.

What kind of indoor practice facility do you have at Orville? Actual football/turf field? BB court? Our boosters built a multipurpose building at Genoa a few years ago with a large multi-purpose room/BB/Volleyball court, wrestling room, locker rooms, etc. It's been a great addition for all the sports programs.

I don't subscribe to your street lingo. I am an uneducated man but I prefer to speak in complete and proper sentences.

all sports surface. Equivalent of about 40 yards of football field. Weight room with batting cages on an astro turf surface that can be used for speed training above weight room. Can be two full size bball courts, 2 Vball courts, 2 tennis courts.

RR1, I have a new idea for your site.

You need to create a "Facilties" tab.
Have pictures of all our facilities and a brief history paragraph about each venue. This would be a great addition to your site. (maybe your next big project) :D

I have been trying to look for a picture of our multi-purpose facility to post on here and their is nothing out there.

By the sounds of it, Orrvilles new High School is going to be SPECTACULAR. 18 mil +. To bad new stadium isn't included.

by the way i will have my noise makers and will be the loudest of all of them and i look for all our fans to be lookin up at me screaming cause they cant get off thier lazy butts and cheer on thier team miles well listen to it at home on the radio although they did better last week!!!

Wouldn't surprise me to see a new one in a couple of years though.. Orrville has that nice new campus theme going on. 3 new schools, New field house. Stadium is all that's left to be replaced.

Talked to Ad Hamsher today. She told me the money for Avon Lakes new stadium came from a passed levy solely for that.

redzone,
thanks for the compliments...and welcome to the madness here.

5knots,
I knew that about the lake being warmer....had a friend who lives in Bay village remind me of that.

62_80_47 Woo,
Yea they passed a levy for the turf, but they also nabbed some stimulus money for the other upgrades (restrooms, concessions, etc).

Yeah all we would really need is new restrooms, concession stands, lockerrooms, scoreboard, and turf.

But to completely make a new stadium would be really nice. I think it would be sweet to have a stadium that matched the new schools with the brick and stone colors. Maybe just maybe that will happen....could Orrville pass a levy just for a football field, who knows!

Even the bleacher blanket or whatever it is called...the thing that Tuslaw has would be sweet to just liven up the stadium and make it look really nice.

Does Genoa have turf or grass on their home field ? Does Nutter show a noticeable difference from grass to turf ?

Turner, Simpson and Brenner seem to really take advantage of the turf fields...

Last week EC's receivers didn't look all that explosive on turf...

Orrville's next project in the stadium is to redo the track surface. It would be a perfect time to put in turf, BUT unless an outside source comes up with the money ($750,00) I don't think it will happen.

Well let's hope we can come under budget on our new high school ,like we have come under budget with both the new middle school and new elementary school. I like how the board is being smart with the money they are recieving and doing more with less.

If we can come under budget and have maybe a million left over, we could do a lot of updates in the stadium.

Or we could make sure we have enough money in our permanent improvement fund for a rainy day ( like a projected 10-20% reduction in State funding) so we don't have to come back to the voters. Were not the Federal government and can print our own. LOL

Simply love it!

5K I gotta hand it to you, I've been on these High School forums for little over 6 years now and I always believed that BRF was the King on these type of boards, but here within the past year you've been stride for stride with the best of them. :D

By any chance did you watch the Genoa - Ottawa-Glandorf game film ? If so what is your take on it?

Totally agree with you! haha

I don't think what Avon Lake did would work here in Orrville....we should probably be thankful we are getting the new facilities that we are.

I think with a nice private donation, booster club support...and money from the permanent improvement fund I believe we would have a good opportunity to do a lot of things to the stadium/track. But nothing will happen until the new high school is built, unless some private donation just gives the entire amount to do the whole project.
