In order to be a fan of a team they must be from the state in which you grew up.

While that is true, who really cares? I mean is it affecting your ability to follow your team? Is it affecting how you live your life?

I understand that people are labeled bandwagon and why they are labeled as such....but in the end, who really gives a fuck?

In order to be a fan, you have to make !!!LOUD NOISES!!! to show everyone how super-duper of a fan you are. And occasionally light fans of other teams on fire to prove a point.

I love all of the Cleveland teams... I am not a big fan of the "bandwagon fans." I tend to really show my support when my team is down... such as the Indians are currently, and the browns have been until the recent upturn. I will probably stop wearing my browns shirts and hats quite as much now that they have a pulse. Time for "amateur hour" to begin with the Browns fans. LOL

Not sure why anyone would post after this explanation. Except to point out how perfect it is, like I just did.

I'm all for representing a city that you have ties with. No way could I like a team on the west coast. I'm not from there, I have zero ties to that area. The only team I'd say I don't have much connection with is Arsenal, but Henry is my favorite player ever and I did live in North London for a time.

The one thing I do find comical is the people from the midwest and north loving on the SEC. If you go down there, tell them you are a fan of said SEC school and you didn't go there....they will laugh in your face.

But in general.....support who you want...who really gives a fuck.

What if you grew up in Wyoming, Idaho, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Mexico, Nebraska, Arkansas, Iowa, Rhode Island, Vermont, Delaware, South Carolina, Mississippi, Hawaii, Alaska, New Hampshire? None of them have pro teams at least. I'm not sure if Virginia, West Virginia, or Kentucky have any -- I've been drinking. Kansas might not either since Kansas City is located in Missouri (total mindblower really)

At least thats the idea I get from reading some of the posts on this board.

No, let me help you out...

You like a good HOMETOWN team...you = die hard fan.

You like a bad HOMETOWN team....you = die hard fan.

You like a good team from another state...you = bandwagoner.

You like a bad team from another state....you = stupid bandwagoner.

You only rep. your hometown team when they're good...you = fairweather.

Glad I could help out.

That is assuming you're from Chicago. If not you're a train bandwagoner.
