I am not really sure how your comment "What now" came across as aggressive....I was so unsure that I asked if it was your intent for it to come across that way. I thought it might help me better understand what you meant. I took it as an argumentative statement along the lines of... "Here's what I got. Do you have anymore for me?" Reading tone is difficult sometimes...at least for me it is. Maybe you can help me better understand what you meant by, "What now?".

I am not hanging out with anyone from the OC. I don't have time to.

Special? Well that's certainly up for interpretation.

What makes you believe I don't think you can follow my line of thinking?? If you are able to come to the conclusion my choices are silly and selfish you certainly must be able to follow it and understand "my own thinking".

If I don't follow my own thinking whose should I follow??

Is me not having a mobile phone anymore selfish than people expecting me to have one for their convenience? What's the difference there? By the way, they aren't cell phones anymore....that's an older technology that the norms of society have advanced past. ;)

I truly had no idea that video recording was considered a "norm of society". Honestly, I didn't know that.

"What now?" was more along the lines of "What dumb thing will you say next?". Thanks for clarifying.

Ahh, I understand now. Thanks. "Dumb" is certainly subjective in this case...kind of like your observation that my actions were a personal preference.

Again, thanks for the clarification and may nostalgia live on.

Yeah, pretty much.

Yet another thread where you go out of your way to tell everyone how different you are from the rest of us. "Hey look at me I'm special and different. I don't do things like the rest of you".

Look ConAlma - I'm sorry you've been picked on your whole life, but your shtick gets old really quick.

Hmmm, I don't think I've been pick on at all. No need to apologize for that.

I will agree however that there are distinct differences between you and I. I certainly don't need to go out of my way to point them out that's for sure.

As I said in the opening posts....good topic, truly.

Stevie is so in love with Kenny that he went and got the same black hooker in Mexico Kenny did...just so he could say he banged the same woman that Kenny did. Stevie sneaks into Kenny's room and wears his dirty underwear. Kenny is Stevie's hero just like I am your hero. Don't apologize - remember it's all about personal preferences. I accept you even though you are not as good as I am. Not many people are.

I'm not as good as anyone. I can't be. I don't measure myself against other people. Why would I choose their standards to be a barometer. Come on you should know that! Lol

As far as heroes are concerned....unless you have worn a U.S. military uniform you won't ever be on my radar. There are few, very few true heroes in this world.

You'd have to know the show to get that humor. That was all just BS. But, if I am Kenny; you are Stevie - without a doubt.

Even if I don't know the show I certainly didn't take it is anything more than BS. This whole site is nothing more than BS for entertainment purposes, no?

Well, not in the literal sense; but are the many advancements in technology "killing" our younger generation's sense of nostalgia? .......Not many people have home movies from those decades and people generally have less documentation of their lives, the older they are.....

In sharp contrast, however, my daughter who will be 2 in January already has over 200 family movies and probably 1500-2000 pictures to document her two-year existence and to look back on when we tell her about her childhood. ........So, what will she remember from all of that?

I'm 40 and I'm a nostalgia nut. I could sit and look at old things from my childhood all day long......

I'm interested in peoples' thoughts. Will capturing so much of our kids lives on video ruin the nostalgia for them? If so, what, then, will create their nostalgia? Something will - because it's human nature to cherish old moments and memories, IMO. ;)
Great post, Steel Valley. I can relate, I feel the same way about my past, and I have more documentation of both my sons' early childhood to give to them than I have of mine. They will have the benefit of seeing themselves in motion at that age, instead of just frozen for a moment in time. Right now they're not interested in it, but hopefully they will when they're adults, and hopefully I'll still be around to share it with them.

On the other hand, nostalgia can pull us away from the responsibilities of the present - but it's still nice to go back and visit for a little, and enjoy the memories. In the past few years, I've taken the time to scour eBay and purchase some of the books (especially first grade Dick and Jane reading books) I remember enjoying as a kid, because that is what made an impact on me.

I'm glad someone got it. Did you see the rigor moral that Con Alma put me thru? LOL. Thanks for the post. Btw, how old are you?
