I would rate the Buckeye 8 below both of these conferences, as well as the MVL.

The Buckeye 8 does a good job of getting DIV Martins Ferry and Bellaire into and ready for the playoffs. But for the DIII teams in that league it does not do a very good job.

Bellaire has been in a 5 year slump too but they did show some promise this year at the end. I have to agree with you the d-3 teams are mediocre. It is competetive though

When was the Buckeye 8 created?
What's the furthest any one team has made it in the playoffs since?
How much over all success does the conference have in the playoffs (w-l record)?

I know Bellaire went to the semifinals in 2006 (played Mooney in Steubenville), but the Buckeye 8 website only lists football records back to 2007.

Buckeye lost 1st round last two years . St C is in this year and Ferry may win one or two . Ferry is the year in year out bully of the confrence .

Though in the big picture it may not seem that strong. I feel it is a good fit in the valley.

I really don't like the B8. Never have and a good chance that I never will.

Benefits: saves some gas money, keeps some rivalries in place

Downers: might prepare a team(s) for playoffs only as far as points, doesn't really prepare for playoffs - especially when you get out of the area, playoff opponents generally have a higher degree of competition.

*I realize that the whole valley has downsized, especially the river towns.

I love how people want to know the B8 talking about how weak it is... This is usually the Big Red, Dover, and other posters that are off in La La land... I agree that the B8 is much better for the D4 teams than the D3 teams, but How many D3 teams are in the B8? Edison, Indian Creek, Buckeye Local, and Harrison Central... Wow, all those schools have a combined existence of what... 40 years? Seriously, find something to do for a hobby, I can't believe that there are actually posters on a high school website that say they back a certain team and are so dedicated, yet OBSESS about putting down other "certain" schools, teachers, students, athletic programs, and now the conferences they belong to... Simply amazing.

Im glad you came out of hiding SOS LOl. I reread the posts and I didnt see anything that was out of line . Just discussion about the buckeye 8 and how it sizes up to others , maybe you can give some info on your future development. You sure did rip big Red the last time I herd from you and it was totally unwarrented and false. Sounds like you got an inferiority problem with your confrence. No Buckeye 8 school has a prgram such as yours and I see no one trying to say so, but you and a few others continue to degrade the other local programs. No one in this conference even plays you (Jr. High or HS) so why the interest.

You should just keep whining about how the "privates" recruit and Big Red is such a victim. Now I found that entertaining.LOL

^^^ Is the truth... You guys (I will say "steal") the local schools players with the most potential then you come on here and with your fascination of the B8 for some unknown reason and rip it apart like you own it. In a way you kinda do because our boys are playing for you. You should be thanking us instead of knocking us. Be thankful Collaros went to Big Red... Without him you wouldn't have back to back state championships and something to recently brag about because I have seen Big Red do absolutely nothing except lose big games since he left. Sure you made it there, but you blew it just as quickly as you got there. What to sheer about second place especially on barrowed players that you ship off to D3 schools when your done with them? I was not in hiding, I just chose not to respond to something that doesn't interest me. Funny how your life is revolved around wondering where I am and what I am doing... I'm just a lowly IC supporter that won't jump ship. I know its hard to imagine, but I love IC, and I support the B8 no matter what i think of the conference. Maybe if you would have beaten Ursuline since the are your "level" only a LOT smaller school then you might have a chance to win it all this year. Barrow a few more players, you might get enough talent from us and other schools to win another one...

Start naming names from your teams..............cmon man more lies more lies ....... Steubenville is home grown talent .....LOL Like when SOS says we take all IC kids ...What a friggin joke.... I know more Steubenville kids that go to Creek than the other way around .... I live in Toronto and I see how that city embraced a Big Red kid that transferred to that school a few years back .. But cried a shower of tears when a couple of theyre kids went to Steub Central ........ You guys are a friggin joke because your teams lack so bad you blame Big Red for pilfering your athletes ....It is just such a big azz lie .. LOL.... Hypocrites all of you ....

I didnt call you one . You guys dont like stereo types do you ? How does it feel ? So you and SOS think we just pilfer away at your schools for football talent, Even though we may have one starter that transfered for whatever reason I dont know and dont care. I just want to point out I grew up in this area and I know what alot of people say about sending theyre kids to SHS especially the daughters I might add. If we are going to slandered then lets open up the real ugly issues .
