Ben gets 6 game suspension for a crime that was never proven.
Harrison has been fined 3 times for 100k this season for playing football
You guys tell me that Goodell doesn't have a vendetta against the Steelers.

you've failed to mention all the other players who have been fined and suspended. Steelers players arent the only ones

I wanna know how the Mims or whatever his name is was only fined $50,000.....that was one of the dirtiest/dangerous I've ever seen.....and it was on a receiver not even in the play....yet SC just interviews him as he jokes and doesn't even show the play.

Harrison's fine is idiotic. No way was that even a top 20 dirty/dangerous hit of the day.

Ironman92-You're thinking of Ernie Sims.

Modell-Ben only served 4 games.

I mean't it was initially 6.
I hope Harrison and Ryan Clark knockout Cinco and T.O. on the same play. Goodell would probably come on the field in cancel the game.

He's a fucking joke and is ruining the league with these ridiculous fines. His consistency on these rulings is also laughable, James Harrison aside, the suspension he levelled on Roethlisberger was idiotic, yet, Vince Young was caught on tape beating the shit out of some guy at 3AM in a titty bar and he does nothing about it.

Sooner or later defensive players are going think twice on making a hit and it's going to cost their team a game.

He has total control of the league because he's the fucking commissioner? That's his job you tard. Have you ever appealed something? Who do you think makes the decision most of the time? One person.

He's ruining the league with ridiculous fines? I mean listen to what you are saying. The NFL games on Sunday got higher ratings than the WORLD SERIES CLINCHING GAME, and you think the NFL is being ruined? With fines?! Somebody is going to get killed, if these helmet-to-helmet hits keep up. There is no way around that. Players are too physically built now a days, there is no way you can allow these kind of hits. Goodell has to do something, or he is going to be staring at a dead corpse in the middle of the field. These guys are making millions of dollars, they SHOULD be fined large sums of money for hits that he is trying to put a stop to.

And please do not talk about the consistencies of fines, and then say you're not saying he has anything against the Steelers. You literally could not sound any more like a whiny little bitch. So vince young got in a fight...okay? Have you ever been in a fight? Do you think you should be suspended for a week from your workplace (do you even work???) because of a fight you got in outside the workplace? And are you also trying to compare Ben Roethlisberger's situation to a bar fight? Just because he was never charged, doesn't mean he didn't do the crime. He settled, she didn't follow through with the suit. So that means he didn't do anything? He had his bodyguards force the girl back to a room, and into a bathroom, where he was sitting with his dick out and told her to fuck him, even though she did not want to. You don't think that is worse than a bar fight? You don't think his 4 game (not 6, dumbass) suspension was warranted? I know Pittsburgh people like to rape sheep and cows and shit, but try to put yourself in the sheep's position for once and realize that rape is bad.

The helmet to helmet hits definitely need to quit but the last hit on Brees by Harrison wasn't dirty. 20 large out of his pocket for a bullshit fine. If people didn't know check the avatar I'm not a Steeler's fan.

Sportsand lady and pick6 are obviously fans of soft teams that dont know the meaning of a good hard hitting defense. Go to the soccer thread and sing a song together.

tweeting withing a certain time period before and after a game is pretty bullshit too. there is bullshit all around the league, and all teams have to deal with it, get over it.

And it wasn't a dirty hit, but it was a dirty play. Clearly roughing the passer and a cheap shot.

Another brilliant post from one of the most clueless people on this site! Goodell has UNPRECEDENTED powers as commissioner, especially on any appeals. He's the one and only authority, Tagliabue never had that type of authority. Pete Rozelle did in the beginning but even he was relinquished of some of his powers.

Troy Polamalu said it best the other day, there needs to be some sort of committee consisting of not only Goodell and his people, but players and coaches too. BTW, the overwhelming concensus among players is that these fnes and new rules will eventually ruin the game. The NFL is popular because people tune in to watch violent hits, that's the way it's always been, if you think otherwise, you're a fool!

Get a fucking clue! That was a borderline penalty if anything and the ref threw the flag. LMFAO......."CLEARLY" a cheap shot, you wouldn't know your ass from a hole in the ground1

No mistakes = a win for the burg. Cinci has played the Steelers tough the last few years and this year won't be different. Steelers by 4. 21 - 17. A fumble at the wrong time (game winning drive) = a Cinci win by 3.

It's always Steelers players and fans who keep complaining about these rules. Call a spade a spade. Steelers are the biggest bunch of whiny bitches I've ever seen.

That's because the Steelers play the game the way it's supposed to be. Not like a bunch of fags like the Clowns and Bungals.

I'm definately on the side of the Steelers' fans on this as I am one.....but would it be possible to agree that neither side is going to agree no matter how good the comeback might be?

I do think that if Goodell continues to fine Harrison for hits like that on Brees that he is possibly just crazy enough to really get fed up and "earn" his fine. I hope that never happens....but it should be considered by Goodell and whoever he goes to for advice (which I'm not convinced it's anyone)

Steelers must secure a few sacks, make a few passing TD's and execute well on 3rd downs on both sides of the ball. On the flipside I think it's very important for Cincy to get off to a very good start in this game.

Not true. Bigdaddy is a Ravens fan and disagreed with the most recent fine on Harrison. Most of the ESPN NFL analysts said that at least one of (and some said both) of Harrison's hits vs. the Browns were clean. And this recent one should NOT have drew a fine. Penalty? Maybe/probably. Fine? No way.

It's definitely not just Steelers fans/players. Hell, Josh Cribbs himself said Harrison's hit on him was clean.

I hope you weren't telling me to get over anything. I'm not even a Steeler's fan. I simply said he shouldn't have been fined for the hit on Brees.
