As far as holding, that happens 50 times a game on the edge rushers.

Sometimes it's holding and sometimes it isn't.

The NFL officials do not have a clear grasp on that type of play.

they'll call it a catch and then call some bogus holding on the Steelers first play to even it up

I think we have to pass, can't run it in from the 15 in goal to go

Spaeth might be a good call, he's shown some good hands lately

that's a pass right there

third and goal from beyond the 10 to get it in and not have to kick a field goal

Case in point why you dont waste a challenge. Ward was down before he was in the endzone.

I don't want to be a negative nacy but it looked like his knee touched before the ball crossed the goal line

They cant risk that second challenge in the first half, when Big Ben likely scores on a sneak.

BUT, its also why you dont use challenges on hopes and dreams (and hope that a technicality in a rule saves you). You save those challenges for times like that, etc.

Oh well, they should've challenged it then. Similar to the non-challenge by the Steelers after it appeared Mendenhall scored on the 2nd down & goal to go against the Saints last week. Tomlin challenged a fumble that had no chance to get overturned early in the game and I think they didn't wanna be out of challenge's in the 1st half so they didn't throw the red flag on the Mendenhall play.

Coaches/guys in the booth need to be a little smarter with their challenges.

should've not challenged the other play and challenged that one

but I think they should do away with that

just review everything close rather than just give the coaches two challenges
