Congrats to Dover, a well played game between two evenly matched teams, albeit one very good running and one very good passing. I was impressed with your QB, is it true you that he is going to skip his senior year and go to college early? j/k Very good poise and knew when to tuck it and go. Your D stiffened when it had to, another sign of a good team. Hats off to your fans, team, staff, and band, they all had a real good night.

WTOV has this game Sunday at noon, so get the DVD recorders going. Good luck with Sheridan and beyond. Don't underestimate yourself out there, you never know what can happen in the playoffs. To all the Big Red kids, it has been a pleasure watching your effort this year. You can keep your chins up.

Congrats to Dover on a fine victory. The QB & the O played with poise & the D showed up when it had to in the red zone 3 or 4 times. The keyboard kowboys won't show up to congratulate you but I have noticed when the the tables were turned the 10 or so Dover posters that banter back-n-forth turned into about 4. It is called human nature.

Great job Big Red on the effort this year. The skill positions were not on par with the previous six + years, you guys had a lot to live up to but the heart & desire to win is not questioned.

The TEAM needed to pick up those 3 players laying on the field & get them in line to shake hands. There are some things brewing that won't be mentioned here but the leadership needs to look in the mirror & get these thing straightened out before next year.

Dover D gave up a lot of yards tonight & were fortunate not to give up more points it will be interesting to see how well they come off last night's HIGH.

RRR you won't hear from me for a while, I'm on the road to recruit. Did I spell that correctly? :)

Why throw the ball on 3rd and 5 when you've been gashing the outside for 4-7 yards all night?

Bases, don't get me started. I am sitting there thinking before the play why pass when they can't stop the run but we had Pierro do the same thing last year against Inkster MI that stopped our 67+/- win streak when he was subbing for a hurt D Macon.

I was drumming up the perfect scenario in my head since you guys went up 13-0 & then we scored 14 straight on you. I actually questioned your coaches call to punt on 4th & 1 before our drive. Other than maybe one incompletion to that point it didn't seem like you guys got less than 3 yds on a play. I thought your QB should have received the snap & run straight ahead. I believe he would have easily got the 1st & sustained the drive.

Anyway if we run say twice to score before the half & give you 40 sec. on the clock we have a great opportunity to go in at half up 8 & then give ourselves the opportunity to score coming out of the half (which we did) to go up 15. Put huge pressure on you guys to catch up. But its over.

Loved the pooch KO after the first score, brilliant.

Maybe you can recruit a field goal kicker!!
By the way the transfer from the next county got beat by Dover two years in a row!!! LOL

Dover played a great game on offense, and their coaches had a gameplan that attacked our weaknesses.

We needed to pressure the QB and didn't...the few times we did he made mistakes. Except the one he threw up for grabs as he was getting hit and caught for a TD.

Dover vs Sheridan will be very interesting.

When it was 13-0 and it was 4th and 1 on your own 30, good thing the snap was fumbled because if its a clean play the QB is stood up and its probably 20-0 real quick and over.

I have been pondering what happens if the QB gets the snap clean on the 4th and 1 down 13-0 on your own 30. I think that fumbled snap was enough of a pause that opened up a small hole, the initial surge from Dover was enough to stop the sneak, but that miscue(even the fact it came right to him) was enough pause to open it up. Can you IMAGINE being down 20-0?

You guys claim to have the best coaching staff in America, now you want to criticize what you have been building up for over 30 years...interesting!

Congrats Dover you finally got over the Big Red Hump!

Big Red, Congrats on a great season, sure its not what you are used to but there are a lot of teams who would love to win 8 games. Be proud of your tradition, coaching staff, players, and fans because you are very blessed down there in the valley!

What high school did he attend? I can tell you this if he had played for Reno and his staff that man would be a different person than what we see on TV . When you are on the field you go 100% all the time or your benched .....period....No one player is above anybody else on the team . I also grew up watching Woody Hays and Chuck Noll . Can you imagine that guy playing that way for any of those guys ?

True class and character is shown in defeat. I counted 3 Big Red players that laid on the field and NEVER shook hands. Where was Reno? While they no longer do it, WIN or LOSE after every game we shook hands and went to spot in front of the Dover stands and did Dover Jacks. I expected more out of a team coached by the great Reno than what I saw last night. Football is a TEAM sport where you win and lose as a team, what those kids did last night was as "look at me" as what Randy Moss does. Fitting and disgusting.

^^^^^^ Even though I was the first to congratulate your team you had to go back and start with me anyway . and talk about class . Isnt winning the game enough for you? Who is showing sportsmanship and class now ? I know people like you and they are missirable no matter what nothing I say can change that with you .

You were the one proclaiming Reno to being a guy that could change Randy Moss...then your kids(albeit a handful) lose at home and they have a "look at me" moment and lay on the field refusing to shake hands. We've all played our "last high school game", the difference is at Dover we shook our opponents hands and said good game/ good luck.

bases_loaded;547983[B wrote:]That is quite a compliment considering your QB last year and the guy they had before him. [/B] Swinderman was awesome tonight and it was nice to see the guys other than 15 step up when they were called upon. Why did Reno call 2 pass plays at the end of the game? 5 yards, two plays...two passes...thats one head scratcher. Thanks for the sammiches Capri and once again GREAT GAME #12
I gauge a quarterback on several levels. Our previous Q.B.s were each great in their own ways, no doubt; especially their speed. On that last play at the end of the game on that sweep, when our Q.B. got caught one yard short to end the game, your defense would probably never have caught our past 2 Q.B.s.
This year's edition is noticeably slower. Not an excuse; just a fact about different Q.B.s. He was a defensive back who got switched to Q.B. this year and considering that, he has done an excellent job overall.

Your Q.B. got hit several times ( I think we counted around 5 ) and while falling backwards or in the grasp, delivered the pass to his receivers, and I don't mean short passes either. I think he has the complete package

On the pass plays, we wondered the same thing. Complete control of the ground game and two pass plays were called. I'm not sure Reno called those, but he's responsible in the end.

An amazing game. Check out the stats - and only 1 punt the entire game.

There was a healthy thread on this game over on JJ in the Bleacher Seats Section.

They moved it to the "pay per view" section!!

It was 3 and they did not, but its not important anymore they could still be lying there for all I care. I just found it funny since thicknred was preaching class from Reno and how his kids would never have look at me moments.

Very often, that means little in High School. They will also lose that all senior offensive line. That said, as I mentioned before, I like the kid- real poise out there.

That's not accurate at all! One of your coaches walked over to one of those kids and talked to him. He and another player got up and walked over and started shaking hands. They are sophs. and actually cried over that loss. Where was Reno? He was busy talking to your coaches.
