Fair points, but I don't think rational logic applies in this situation. The doctor had given up hope, had given up fighting. Even if he had a cure there's no way to synthesize it and distribute it. A lost cause. He resigned himself to taking the easy out.

Also, note the Doc did not blow-up the facility - it's an automatic protocol when the facility runs out of fuel because after that there's no power to set-off a containment procedure. So even if he's looking at Andrea being the potential solution he has no lab with the research capability to do anything about it.

Go back to the fact that her sister took much longer than 3 hours to wake and if Andrea is infected she has been so for well-over a day. Either she has an immunity or a mutated form of the virus. And I think it's also interesting that they showed us how he virus only fires very fundamental synapses in the brain, not complex ones controlling speech and memory. Maybe showing how the virus works was just background and not a plot device, but we'll see.

I thought he said the longest was 8 hours.

Also, I was thinking about this at work today. I don't think that what the doctor whispered had anything to do with Andrea. When he told him that, Andrea was sitting on the floor ready to die. If Andrea was infected or immune, it wouldn't have mattered because her fate was sealed at the time. At the time of the conversation, she was a mute point/lost cause. The only possible thing I see is that she COULD be immune, the doc told Rick, and Rick gave Dale a look like "Convince her to get out with us." I don't think that's plausible because of how quick everything happened.

Great episode, already can't wait for season 2. Going to be very interesting to see where they take it from here. However, I was disappointed in the special affects of this last episode, I thought they were very SyFy Original escque.

It could be she is preggo, but if she is it isn't his. It's the other cops and the show with take the turn to those two trying to kill each other!

I like the Doc's kind of bewildered look at the end "they got out....they got out".....Sort of like an "oh shit, you mean I actually could have gotten out?!?"

They were Sundays. But the finale was this past week. Season 2 will be next fall, for 13 episodes.

You have 5 more to watch, if you are through 1. The first season was 6 episodes.

Predictable, yes, but realistic? Absolutely. Like I said, they've done a good job of portraying the human condition, but it's a very fine line because I don't think anyone wants to watch too much of that crap. Admittedly, as dramatic devices go it's kind of a cheap one. A more interesting development could be that Andrea is a carrier and also pregnant.

Anyway, clearly the affair is something the writers intend to develop. They could have left it a secret for us to wonder about but it appears the copy buddy is going to press the issue. I'm fine with it as long as it doesn't become an overt focal point.

Just finished the finale. My wife also suspected that the Doc told rick that his wife is pregnant.

she slept with both of them within a few days so the question will be who's it is...and without a place to get the paternity test done it'll come down to how much faith can save their marriage.

I'm operating under the assumption that he was out of the picture for some time. I don't think he walked out of the hospital and found them a few days later.

How soon was it between them screwing in the woods (where she took her husband's ring off) and him coming back to camp with the rest of the group and he and his wife..reunited in the tent? Even if its within a week that's hard to determine paternity without a test.

But why assume that was the first time they had done that? I certainly don't think that was their first time together. I'm also not sure the cop and his wife have really had time to knock boots since he came back, probably but not with their kid sleeping 2 feet away. If she pops less than 9 months after his return he'll know something is up.
