If the main character had read Max Brooks' wonderful books he'd be ready.

1. Organize before they rise!
2. They feel no fear, why should you?
3. Use your head: cut off theirs.
4. Blades don’t need reloading
5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair.
6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it.
7. Get out of the car, get onto the bike.
8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert!
9. No place is safe, only safer.
10. The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on.

Why #7?

Love the comic book series, been into it since the beginning, so will definitely be watching this. Just bought the season pass on iTunes, as i don't think i could watch any other way. Can't wait!

I won't ruin it for everyone, but I read the comic book this series is based on. AMC did a great job.

I'm willing to bet you can go a lot farther in a car than a bike before you get tired and have to take a break. Also, you have doors and windows to block the zombies. The bike has nothing.

It's from Max Brooks (son of Mel Brooks) Zombie Survival Guide. Which I think provided some of the inspiration for Zombieland.

As for the bike. They don't run out of gas, they don't make much noise, and you can take them many places cars can't go.

Yep, besides, if you're in a car, it doesn't really matter how far it can take you. If you were in a zombie outbreak, they'd be everywhere except isolated areas.

Well how about a hybrid?

They're small, quiet, and can go pretty far.

If you're driving a hybrid, you're already a fucked up zombie.

So, anybody catch the 2nd episode?

Another good one, and AMC is not afraid to go out on a limb one bit with the dialogue.

Can't wait for next weeks episode.

I watched about half of episode #2 and the fell asleep. Not because of lack of excitement....because I turned it off (knowing full well it was being recorded on the DVR). I'll watch the rest tonight. It's a shame it's on so late. :) 10:00 is my bed time on work nights. Stayed up late to watch part of it because this show is genuinely very good.

Second episode was great. I loved the kid, as he was the nerdy-this-is-what-you-do-to-survive zombie movie kid.
The covering themselves with zombie goo was good too. Haven't seen that one before.
The love triangle is my only small beef. I hope it gets resolved by 1. the sheriff decking his partner or 2. One of the three (sheriff, partner or wife) getting eaten by a zombie.

Thanks for this thread or I wouldn't know about Breaking Bad or Walking Dead.

Missed the first show or two of Walking Dead, but caught last night's after seeing this thread and I enjoyed it. So refreshing to get a decent show because the networks have mostly gotten in a rut playing it safe with recycling the same cop and legal dramas over and over and over.

Last night was really good.

I think it's interesting that everyone at the refuge camp has a connection with the survivors in the city. I really hope the love thing goes away as well. I wish it wouldn't have been as "easy" getting out of the city. It's great, don't get me wrong, but it seems to be moving rather quickly.
