The bolded part makes no sense. Mad Men and Breaking Bad are probably the best two shows on television.KR1245;533754 wrote:Anybody going to watch this show? I usually dont watch AMC shows but I think I'm going to check this one out.

If you enjoy television you owe it to yourself to watch AMC's original series. They are excellent.

Love AMC and think this will turn out to be a great series.
Apparently, they are doing public zombie events, and one was this morning near where I work in DC. It was awesome.

The video is just awesome. The zombies are on the metro is funny as hell.

Well the premier was last night.
Not gonna lie, the beginning of the show where the deputy wakes up in the hospital is eerily similar to 28 days.
I will say that I really liked the show and will definitely be watching every week.

Good show. I will say that the lead character is awful when it comes to surviving the zombie apocalypse, and I found myself cursing at him many times over for going to the population center.
That said, I'll also continue to watch.

Nice opening episode. More gore than I thought they would show. The scene in the hospital where the door was locked and the fingers was awesome! I am a huge zombie fan.

I thought it was awesome, I was surprised with the amount of gore as well. The opening scene with the little girl was great.

This show has promise! I was very pleased with the first episode. I wouldn't expect any less from AMC.

I loved it. It has a 28 Days Later/ Dawn of the Dead mix. The zombies are 1. Fast 2. Alerted by noise and 3. Can turn doors and move around objects. That's pretty cool.
It has potential and really focuses on the human toll of an apocalyptic world. The scene with the man with the rifle struggling to rekill his dead wife was pretty tense.
My only beef is the upcoming love triangle between the Deputy Sheriff's wife and the guy's partner. That could get very clique very fast.

Whoever is behind the AMC originals has been rocking the house the past few years. I would have never believed you if you had told me a couple years ago that AMC had two hit shows, and another potential hit on the way. Although it looks like they picked the right time to strike. Network television has been awful in coming up with show ideas. NBC is especially bad.

^^^^^ No kidding, the big 4 are way behind in a lot of areas of television right now! Hey guys, reality shows bite the big one!

It seems like the amount of reality shows has been steadily decreasing, which is nice, but there are still waaaay too many. Hopefully somebody starts noticing that people are going to HBO and AMC to watch tv.

AMC is awesome. Mad Men and Breaking Bad are excellent products, in fact, Mad Men is my favorite series on television.
The Walking Dead is looking to follow suit. The first episode was very well done. I thought the opening scene with the little girl was great and it shows AMC isn't afraid of taking chances.
I also thought the dialogue was good, specifically between the main character and his partner while they were sitting in the squad car. That was some hilarious stuff.
I like that these zombies are a little smarter than your prototypical zombie, especially the scene where the dudes wife was fondling the door handle. There's also some emotional attachment there, as he couldn't shoot her later on... Me thinks that those two sequences are going to add up later on in the series. Back to the zombies though, I also love the way they look. Most look pathetic, which you would expect from a dead person. The ragged one crawling in the park with no legs looked awesome.
I loved it and will definitely watch this series..
BTW, the black dude is the dude from 'Jericho', which was a pretty good show on it's own right that CBS pulled he plug on a few years ago.

^^^He's also the dad from My Brother and Me, if you watched Nickelodeon in the early/mid 90s. Remember Goo?
I was pissed when I thought the main character was going to kill himself, nice twist with the tank hatch and the radio; had me on my seat's edge.
I agree these zombies are great! They remind me of 28 Days later because they aren't 100% retarded and have all of their senses.

Yeah one would think that it would be best to go as far away from civilization as possible. I'm thinking Canada would look pretty good at that time, BUT he is looking for his wife and kid so thinking rationally may not be the easiest thing. Anyways, that was an awesome episode and I looking forward to the rest of the season.

I watched it again today and it held up on second viewing. Very excited for the rest of the season.
If the main character had read Max Brooks' wonderful books he'd be ready.
1. Organize before they rise!
2. They feel no fear, why should you?
3. Use your head: cut off theirs.
4. Blades don’t need reloading
5. Ideal protection = tight clothes, short hair.
6. Get up the staircase, then destroy it.
7. Get out of the car, get onto the bike.
8. Keep moving, keep low, keep quiet, keep alert!
9. No place is safe, only safer.
10. The zombie may be gone, but the threat lives on.
