Im so sick and tired of seeing on t.v., news papers, sales adds, "holiday sale, holiday lights, holiday tree, holiday concert"................etc. I thought this would slow down after Thanksgiving but it hasnt. Is it so hard, or against the law to say the word Christmas anymore? If you dont like the word Christmas.....then quit buying presents and decorating for it. If you are offended by the word Christmas, then I feel sorry for ya. Every holiday has a meaning to it, and Christmas is ONLY here because of Jesus' birth. If you say happy holidays to me in a store, I will say Merry Christmas to you. Bash me if you want, but in the past five years this country has made me sick over a small percentage of people who dont like something.

Wrong. But nice try. People celebrating the winter solstice predates Christianity by a few thousand years. Notice how every religion has an important holiday in December? Hence the "Happy Holidays". No one is gonna arrest you if you say Merry Christmas to someone who says Happy Holidays to you, nor will you be proving a point.
If someone said Happy Hanukkah to me, I'd say Happy Hanukkah back to them. If they say Merry Christmas, I say the same.
Capitalism strikes again! Just like people who bitch about stores putting everything in Spanish AND English, you can blame capitalism. Companies will squeeze every last dime out of every last consumer, especially if it means doing something so easy like saying 'Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". So your beef is with the idea of capitalism, not with anything else.
Oh and whats with people getting so angry about stuff having to do with celebrating and giving and sharing good times with family and friends?
