^^I firmly believe The Situation really is that big of a douche in real life. Snookie too. The rest probably are near normal, but just "act" for the purposes of the show.

I was watching Letterman last night and Snookie was on.

When she first comes out and sits down, Dave asks her what she wants to be called.

Snookie or Nicole and she bluntly says Snookie.

I've met the Situation at a bar appearance in Columbus. He seemed like decent dude. I believe its mostly an act and him building a brand or character....he knows he has shit goin for him so hes running with it.

Sadly, I confess to getting sucked in.

I don't watch very much reality tv (well, I do love the man vs. wild, sruvivalist, mythbusters), but Jersey Shore is a guilty pleasure that ranks right up with the original ambush reality tv: Joe Millionaire.

Funny thing is, these guys have money now and they still go out to bars sporting the "I'm not poor, I'm casually cool" look.

Don't be so quick to assume. I'm sure natural douchiness was one of the main things the casting directors were looking for. But I agree a lot of that stuff is scripted and edited.

The cast got $10k an episode for season 2. There were 12 episodes. Just out of curiosity... Where is the other $4.88 million coming from?

Never. People who didn't grow up with social media see it as a supplement to or a substitute for real life and real interaction. However, social media is not a fad, and it is not a supplement or substitute. Especially for those who have grow up with social media is it real life and real interaction. It is an integral part of their relationships and daily life. Social media is not a fad, it's a global cultural revolution.

Agree. Before social media I had family members in different parts of the country that I didn't talk to for years at a time. Now we are able to communicate on a regular basis, and keep up w/ each others lives. It's actually brought me alot closer to some of my family members.

Situation got between $15,000 and $50,000 per event as appearance fees. He also has endorsement deals with vitamin water, reebok, a protein infused vodka, a workout video and he and the rest of the cast get pieces of Jersey Shore merchandise sold. According the the link below, he got at least $100,000 to do Dancing With The Stars.

Gratzi. I figured Situation had some endorsements. I had no idea he was on Dancing With the Stars.

Actually I think the first one he released was strictly an abdominal workout. I'm not sure if he has any others in the works.
