Ha Ha! What an excellent example of the importance of proof reading! I wonder if the time of post had anything to do with it. ;-)

BTW, anybody on here hear the story going around about the 7 foot Nigerian coming to Orrville? The head coach knows about it, so it has some merit.

It's kind of a long story and I didn't hear what grade he is in. The word I got is that it's NOT a done deal. He may even be more like 7'2", according to some. Man, if THAT happened, the stands would be spilling over!

Yes. Initially committed to Penn State before they lost their coach, I believe.

Best get on Kent Smith now and make sure all the paper work is done, dot the t's and cross the i's, and check with the OHSAA to be sure everything is done right. Next question can he dribble or "drunk" the ball?

He's 15 and a freshman. You don't have to dribble at 7' just stick your hands up to block and catch the ball and turn. His brother is in a prep school in Washington DC and Duke wants him. Now those are the rumors I've heard, but none of its for sure.

Does he play football? haha he would be a heck of a DE or Reciever if he's an athletic 7 foot.

Known for over a month....was trying to keep the cat in the bag. Not doubting anyone saying this, but I'll let it happen before talking about it.

Feels like there's going to be a big bullseye on our back if we keep getting kids tranferring in and the like. Just hope everything is legit and all the necessary paperwork is in the works.

Yea, I wasn't talking about it until I heard it from 3-4 people then I thought, oh well. Treating it more like a X mas present, if we get it great and if we don't I'll still live.

Yes I'm sure people will be questioning us, BUT when you have these brand new facilities, and your sports teams are having a lot of success this is what happens people start moving in. We haven't done anything wrong and will not do anything wrong.....just sit back and let them come to us.

Doesn't stop someone from contacting the OHSAA. The stigma is guilty until proven innocent.

Believe me... we received criticism when the Weber kids moved in from Austria as if Coach Snoddy and our community were recruiting overseas. It sounds like a very similar situation where a tall, non-American kid moved into a very good basketball situation. Some things are just out of our control and just happen. Good luck to Orrville this season! You should not hear any griping from Triway fans since we know exactly what you're going through, if this all does end up coming to fruition. However, you get your kid for 4 years. We only got ours for about a year and a half.

Here's a quote on the Strasburg to Hiland transfer and their game tonight, sounds like no hard feelings in this decision either. :( This game will be worth listening to.

"Dylan told me the Tiger kids made tshirts which say Seger James on the back and Hiland Catholic on the front, pretty cool and creative i thought, wonder if El Ducko will be rocking one?"

Haha recruiting or not, people will always say stuff. Mocilinikar definitely wasn't recruited, yet that word always is thrown around when somebody gets in trouble. This is Wayne County people.

Holy Cow!!! A 7 foot Nigerian.......(the typical excited response)....but wait....

This is not a new story...just an old one that often plays out the same...

A school gets blessed with an immigrant of considerable size and then does all the hard work of teaching the kid everything from english to the pick and roll....and just as its about to pay dividends a year or two down the road....in comes Mr. prep school and gives him the offer that can't be refused....scholarship, room & board, travel, a chance meet people he never would around here and all the things prep schools say they don't provide (parent gifts, etc.)

I'm not trying to be a downer here, I'm saying enjoy the kid, learn all the cool cultural differences and teach him well, but remember....if he turns out to be one of the few with D1 talent, the prep school raiders will come calling.

So forget about all of those calling you recruiters, if the kid pans out academically & athletically, your worry will be the REAL private/prep school recruiters.

And that is if this kid actually comes to Orrville, which it doesn't sound like a done deal yet.

Wow bloody their is a brain behind that screenname....one of your best posts and I would agree with you (not that you care or just as usual "skip the donkey posts") Haha

Time will tell and nobody is getting worked up about it until he is here and cleared to play.

I see we now have PAC and WCAL expert thoughts on the situation. All we need now is series62's unbiased opinion.

No "BaRF", not an expert, just a fan.

My only true expertise lies in unmasking the bloated, underworked & overpaid teachers union...

but thats for another forum and I'm tired of apologizing to my pals for making you cry.

So, Good Luck and go Riders.

Just in case you think that you are so clever coming up with "BaRF"......that has been said many times before you (as I dab my tears). I take the rest of your post with a grain of salt. Thanks for dropping by with your wisdom.

What a win on the road where every team that plays there gets screwed. I'm done.

WH freshman Brady Arnold making an impact. He is quick. Getting to play immediately with WH and making them a better team.
