Whoa! This just made me realize that Coach Slaughter has his hands full! I will guarantee that he is putting football first, at this point. You want to talk about a True Red Rider?......Coach Slaughter!

Lets see- Ray, Winters, Perez, Simms, Woods, Seiler, Gebhardt and some unknown Sophs. or Freshmen. Would have been fun to watch and a chance for someone to step up and show something. Let's hear if anyone knows what happened.

The varsity and JV played at Copley each team(just Orrville) only had around 6 or 7 guys, also the freshman played Akron East, they only had 6 as well yesterday. Will try to get some info on the scrimmage.

Would have been a good scrimmage this Saturday with Hiland. Would be nice to reschedule, but not enough time I'm sure. Would have been fun to see how we stacked up to Hiland's height.

I was told that the varsity and Jv played with Copley the whole day until the last couple of qrt. then they got tired b/c of only having 6 guys for each team. Also the freshman played well the first part of the scrimmage and they as well got tired b/c of having only 6 guys. So sounds like things are off to a solid start other than the football guys being there. Hey Flash I heard that the varsity and JV are playing this weekend against Hiland, Dalton, and somebody else. I heard they are going to move the freshman up to JV and keep a couple of soph. to play JV and then the rest will play varsity. I guess we will wait and see.

I know football is the hot topic, but the varsity, what they have of it will be traveling to Berlin to play Hiland and Dalton on Saturday, the JV (made up of mainly freshmen) will be at home to against the same teams. Good luck Red Riders!

watched Orrville scrimmage at Hiland this weekend. Don't know your players, but assumed from watching that several players probably were missing from football. Wasson and the tall kid (?name) are a load and tough to stop. who else will they have from football? From what I saw they had no scoring aside from those two; assume they will get help after football?

^^ I do not think Infield and Rice are playing this year and Tre is up in the air, I did hear Monheim was considering playing this year. Also their is a lot of kids that will play JV this year that are dressing for football still.

I do like the size (height) of our team this year, that will be an advantage I think this year.

Our size may increase dramatically. Probably 2 starters and 2 kids that will play much played at Hiland. Others will have roles to fill. I'm of the opinion Mason would help this year and be a bigger factor next year. Devon looked much improved against Massillon last night showing he has become more aggressive and stronger with the ball. We will have to develop some out side threat to go along with that.

If we lose in football this week we'll stick to the schedule and if we win we'll reschedule the first two games.

Alex Samson isn't out ,but AJ Perez is and may give us some outside shooting if can play defense. The McCord kid played some last night, but I don't think will be a factor.

I don't know if you remembered, Flash, but Samson is on the football team. How did the Mitchell kid look?

Here's hoping Kent has to work to find reschedule dates :)

Samson isn't playing anyway and is the Mitchell kid about as tall as me? Massillon had everyone around 6 foot and he struggled, but he has promise.

Well it looks like we play Shelby next week, so once again I miss the opener because of the football finals and not much time to get ready to play Senior:(

It's time for basketball. Great Season ahead. Possible slow start. This is a great senior class and that football "swag" will carry over. Has the team had cuts yet?

I heard there would be cuts, but it depends on who comes out from the football team. The freshman are all going to play on the freshman team and may see some reserve later on.

Any idea as to how many football players will actually come out? 4 or 5 maybe?

BRF- If you can. Injury report on the football players. Players don't have to be at practice until Wednesday. Short week to get ready for Shelby and have the football players ready to go. Starting Varsity players playing football:
Max, Groves.

Turner, Brenner. Are possible starters. Maybe not to start with. Turner hasn't been in the system, but Brenner if Pirman isn't ready.

Shelby beat Clearfork in a foundation game 63-55. Had 7 threes and scoring was fairly even among their players.

Coached against a stud from Shelby this summer. Granted, he will only be a junior and I know Orrville has the athleticsm to stop him.

I know Groves, Brenner, Turner, Pirrman, Graber for varsity and maybe Tre? JV wise Landis, Neer, BJ, little Graber, and Lichti, and Infield? Freshmen Zook and Summers. Good luck Red Riders hoping for a big year. Also hoping by around Christmas or before that a BIG package is delivered to the Red Riders.....!!!;)
