I'd put it a different way, but yeah, I agree. Convenience wins out over saving a few bucks every once in a while.

What do you mean you just cook your meat yourself. You mean you don't go out and hunt for your meat? You don't grow your own potatoes to eat with that meat? What are you, lazy? Now that I think about, why did I bother to go to the dentist yesterday. I bet I could have saved a lot of time and money by pulling that tooth myself. Come to think of it, I know my dad has a pair of pliers in his garage. I could just go to my parents and get it done.

That $10 or so that I would save by changing my own oil isn't worth my time to do it.

Hell, why would I go to the zoo when I can poach a Koala bear on my next trip to Australia.. I'm too lazy so I pay that gate fee!

Come to think of it, why would I buy this car in the first place? Work is only 9 miles away.. Why waste 10 grand on a car when you can get a Huffy BMX bike for under $200 .. thats like 10 speed playa

Sorry I didnt grow up dreaming about installing new dubs, trickin out my exhaust pipes or riding dirty in my mustang.

I just paid for a service to have my oil replaced by a certified technician. That's not too much to ask for.

By the same token, I bet you deal with a bank who doesn't give a shit about you. How is your portfolio? Are you taking financial planning classes and getting certifications to make sure you know how to make the most of your investments? Or you trusting your retirement to some guy who doesn't give a shit about you?

I know you wouldn't make any expenditures until your pay yourself first, so what are you doing with your investments? Stocks? Mutual funds? Etfs? Do you like to chart (IE look for patterns buy at a "value") or do you buy stock in a company, mutual fund, etf in companies you trust and know will grow?

I mean.. hah.. you're not dealing with some "stock broker" are you? That would be lazy...

the problem is it doesnt take a certified technician to change ur oil. If you can turn a wrench, you can change ur own oil. Plus u know it's done right if u did it... not by some shop flunky who doesnt give a shit if ur car makes it to the next block.

It wasn't the oil change that they botched, they lied about the oil I was paying for.

I'll pop the hood to check the filter and crawl under the vehicle and check the drain plug before leaving the lot if I get it changed at a Valvoline or wherever else.

That's why I'm there watching the technicians work when I either

A: Go "oh shit, I've driven 34789234389 miles since I changed my oil" and get it done at a service center

or B: Simply don't feel like doing it myself.
