Even though it was only Game 1, I think the way the Rangers lost this series might be over.

They won't get swept but even if they win Game 2, the Yankees will have the home field set up.

You can't give away a game like that when you're at home and you get a good start from your pitcher. It's hard to make up for that.

Yanks stole one last night, there's no doubt. Gardner had the huge hustle play in the top of the 8th to get things going, and sometimes in the playoffs that's all you need. i'll tell you this, as a fan and having been a player in those types of situations, a 5 run lead can feel like 10 sometimes. Yanks did a great job and had a wonderful offensive approach in the 8th, jumping on good pitches early to really force the action.

Afternoon game today, it'll be interesting to see how the Yanks come out, hopefully with a hot start instead of the lackluster one they had last night. Phil Hughes has really matured this year and shown what he's capable of, and I think that he'll be ready to go.

I think this game is a shootout. Rangers will get to Hughes.

the Rangers have jumped on....but have squandered some chances to squish
Well.....I was proven to be smart on that one..........same thing going on now as I type in game 2...Rangers 3-0 in 3rd...runner on 3rd and 1 out....squish and bury time

Cliff has a working margin on Hamilton's 2nd multi-RBI homer in the first inning of the ALCS!

Yanks struggling, everything they hit remotely hard here so far in the series has been right at someone. Looks as if someone is going to have to do something to get a little bit of momentum or its going to be an extremely long night

He was safe unless he missed the base. Either way, Cliff is a beast. 2 runs might be enough.

Is this another case of a runner being to the base in time but not contacting it with the lead part of his body?

Those ABs in the 4th by Swisher and Teixiera that took 17 pitches and resulted in a K and a walk pretty much make it an improbability that Lee will get a complete game!
