On the post game show with the common man and torg on 97.1 they kept making fun of the "wind" excuse.

Did they not watch the game and see players hair blowing everwhere and the coaches khakis tattooed to their legs from the strong wind blowing? lol

I was driving around quite a bit after the game today and listened to these two clowns. They're just two chicken littles.

OSU is fine.

Illinois always plays OSU tough.

I'd rather have tight games and win the national championship like 02 than blow most teams out only to get hammered in the NCG.

An interesting piece of information. Today's 11 point margin of victory? Since Tressel has been at Ohio State that's the biggest spread Ohio State has had over Illinois when playing at Illinois.

I would maybe say Iowa and Wisky could be Ohio State (given they're both away games for the Bucks, even though I still think OSU beats both of them) but Michigan? Seriously? Michigan's defense is one of the worst in the Big 10. OSU has one of, if not the best, defenses in the Big 10, they can stop Denard Robinson (at home for that matter) if he is even playing by that time. OSU has won 6 straight, I don't think it is wise to bet against them. Tressel has Michigan's number and Rich Rod is not that good of a coach. It's all Robinson or nothing, that is not the sign of a strong team or coach.

When Pryor was asked by Tressel if he could play, Pryor said he could, but all he could do was hand off the ball to a RB and throw a couple of short passes. Tressel actually made Pryor throw two more passes then he wanted to.

Illinois knew all they had to do was stop Ohio State's running game and they knew Pryor wouldn't be running. Ohio State still marched down the field consuming time and scored a game clinching TD by RUNNING the same play to the left side of the O-line every time except for one. It was as much as telling them what play they were going to run and daring them to stop them. Illinois couldn't..

You could be entirely right. But I hope the team has the same attitude as you. UM had an awful defense and less offense last year, but it was still a game.

I replayed that 3rd down 7 times and it was clear the ball was short and the official moved the ball up to give them the first down.

Where did this information come from?? Did he say it in an interview? I haven't had a chance to catch up on any of the post game stuff.

Not very with Bauserman in there. I really believe if Pryor were to go out any extended amount of time, games...we would see Guiton playing. But for a series or to finish a game, Bauserman would come in. I believe Tress thinks that Guiton needs reps with first team in practice to get him ready. Pure speculation on my part. But when I have seen Guiton play, he has looked much better, much better athlete then JoeB.

If you want to justify that fine, but there is no doubt they were short and got the benefit of the doubt.

Have you ever had a quad strain?? Even a mild strain, a grade 1 tear of the rectus femoris muscle in the quadriceps group is very painful. Most athletes couldn't stand and move around on it for the whole second half of a football game. Don't forget this is the same player who played with a torn knee ligament for 6 games last year and no one knew, outside of the team.

I was at the game (35 yard line 12 rows behind the Illini bench) and I didn't think Illinois got jobbed on the spot of the ball. I thought Zook was crazy for challenging it in the first place, as it cost his team a much needed time out. Once we took the lead before halftime I had no worries about getting upset. Illinois had no offense and they had to go into the wind in the 4th quarter. Anyone who disputes the wind issue couldn't see the flags at the stadium blowing hard. The Illini kicker left one short kicking into that wind, so I knew there weren't going to be any last second field goals. The morning paper in Champaign gave the running backs edge to Illinois because they think they have an All-American candidate back there. What did he have, 60 yards? Yes, Illinois always plays us tough up there, but the bottom line is that we were never in peril of losing. The whole stadium knew that Herron was going to get the ball just about every time and no one could stop him. Maybe Zook and his coaches feared a gadget play (Posey end around maybe?) or a play-action pass, but they simply couldn't stop us. This was one time this season where Tresselball was a necessity and Herron and the O-line executed well.

I think it was a game last year because A) Ohio State already had the Big 10 and Rose Bowl wrapped up and B) Michigan needed the win to be bowl eligible. Now I understand it is the biggest rivalry for both schools, but you must admit, it is a bit harder to get up for a game when you are essentially playing for nothing but bragging rights. Also, the game was not that close even though the score was, Ohio State was never behind and protected a two score lead for most of the game. Game was never in doubt.

To your second question, obviously Ohio State would not be as good without Pryor, but as CBF stated, I think Guiton would be the QB as well, not Bauserman. Also, OSU still has one of the best defenses in the conference, so if Pryor went down, the offense wouldn't carry the burden as much as UM's offense since the defense at UM is actually statistically worse than last years D. So without the phenom Robinson, they are back to that offense of last year and an even worse defense.
