I think Pryor is better passing when he is not 3rd and long. I'd rather see him throw on 1st and 2nd down with no pressure to get the 1st down.

BTW, 17-10, same as 2006.
The games are really similar too as Troy Smith looked like crap and the running game did nothing.

The running game sucks because their best runner is hurt and their best runner at running back is on the bench without a carry today.

All you can say is, at least they're eating the clock.
Saine and Herron have looked pretty bad today. Our O-line isn't helping them at all though. The blocking has been pretty terrible as well. The Buckeyes have a Heisman trophy candidate at quarterback and they look afraid to throw the ball right now. Granted, Pryor made a bad throw earlier on the pick, but generally speaking his decision making has been alright this season.
This super-conservative offense is keeping Illinois in this game.

Yes, there are many QBs good on 3rd down. My point is Pryor sometimes tries too hard when the pressure is there to get a 1st down.

Yea, there are some QB's that are good on 3rd down. But I highly doubt their completion percentages on 3rd and 10+ are better than their completion percentages on 1st or 2nd down.

I think you know exactly what I mean. That was bad playcalling on that series. And I don't believe I said anything about completion % being better for this or that or anything. Quit trying so hard.
