Did not say it did. But a win is a win, and you have to win every game to have a shot.

1.The officals totally fucked Illinois. That one first down was short by almost a yard
2.If Illinois had any offense at all, they would've blown Ohio State off the field. This game should make Tressell and staff extremely nervous.
Ohio state will lose 3 games...mark it down

Ron Zook is a great recruiter, but a pretty horrible coach on Saturday. I'm pretty baffled by the field goal they kicked just like everyone else.
Tressel's play calling in the second half has been super conservative. It almost seems like he wasn't willing to open things up this week. He played it close to the vest, and more typical of what we expect from coach Tressel's offenses.

2. If OSU offense showed up, it wouldn't have made a rats ass difference.
3. Care to make a wager on that?

LoL... I don't think there is a game that Gibby doesn't think OSU's opponent was totally fucked by the officials. There was nothing that showed he was short. It is impossible to see if his knees were down before he extended his body (there was an Illinois player under him, so it's reasonable he wasn't down before extension). And there was no way to overturn the call.
This was an UGLY game... but OSU did what they needed to do to win. I was happy to see our running game (Herron) pick it up at the end when we needed a running game.

I made a statement in response to a statement you made. You were the one that felt you "had to explain" it to me. I admit, I may have been a little condescending with my reply though.WebFire;504790 wrote:Well, gee thanks. And that pic cost OSU some points. He had trouble finding open receivers. He wasn't BAD, but he wasn't good either. Oline is more disappointing then anything. Off to another slow start as last year. Hopefully they turn the corner as they did last year. STill like to see more of Hall or Berry at RB. Saine has been bad and Boom is just an avg. rb at best.

For a shitty O-Line Herron picked up 95 yards.

And lets not forget, as the TV just said...you saw Ill at their best and OSU at their worst. STill a win. OSU needs to step up. Being #2...they will take everyone best shot.

I didn't think Pryor looked too bad other than his typical 1 or 2 bad decisions a game....I put this on the coaching. There were series where they pretty much gave up before they even took a snap. One that sticks out is when they were pinned very deep. I know you don't wanna make a mistake, but 3 runs straight up the gut is ridiculous.

"Virtual handshake" and we're cool? I actually enjoyed "watching" the game today with fellow Chatters.

This. OSU linemen have been grading out very well this year. The RB's have to find the holes, and when Herron got in there, it was obvious there were holes to be found. Not to mention with OSU not throwing the ball, Illinois was stacking the box.

I swear, if I were on Olineman on this Buckeye team I would give myself 50 windspringts monday at practice. Illinois Dline and front 7 made them look like a bad high school team. They move no one, and they dont pick up the blitz woth a shit! The game is won in the trenches, and our troops up front are pissing down their leg! Defense played well.
