I remember my great uncle (when I was a little kid) used some sort of plastic covering to put color on his black/white tv. Does anybody remember what those were called?
This was early 70's.

Ahhh, I found a picture of one!

2. the obvious one...8-track tapes
3. a "typewriter"...(my daughter laughed hysterically about that one).
4. small shorts for the basketball team...yep, i regret that now, too.
5. "putt-putt for the fun of it"
6. bowling leagues
7. dimmer/bright switch on the car... left foot on the floor boards?...who thought of that?

Rotary phones. Only 1 tv in the house. Transistor radios. Anyone remember the service station, when they would actually pump your gas, clean your windshield, and check your oil.

Sure do, plus they used to give you glasses, or plates or all kinds of other things for free - just for your business! Wow, have times changed.

Home phones were out the other day and I got out the old rotary phone. (Yes we have cell phones, but the phone company makes you check the lines anyway) My 12 year old daughter asked what it was, I told her it was a phone from when I was her age. She wanted to call someone on it, and didn't get how to use it. I told her she had to put her finger in the hole by the number and turn it to the metal stopper.

She put her THUMB in, and I asked why she did that. "But dad, you always dial with your thumb!" When I got done laughing, she's right. We dial with our thumbs now.

Oh yeah! I used to cut the front forks off of old banana bikes and hammer them into my "good" bike to make a banana chopper out of it. Worked great until you'd pop a wheelie, the forks would fly off, and then you'd bust yourself up on the concrete.

Man I miss those days!

The bad part is I remember using/having/seeing every thing mentioned in this thread except the St. Valentine's Day Massacre...and there are days when I feel like I could have witnessed it.
