..of 2.5 years. She said she has changed since weve been together and wants to know what she is like when she is single. Basically taking a break for a while so were not together so she can see if she really needs me. She just asked for her space while she figures things out. She says if its meant to be its meant to be and she'll be back once she realizes it... which is true i guess..It just hit me pretty hard because i really didnt see this coming and we have had ZERO problems in the past. I just dont know what to do, its been a really hard past 2 days...any thoughts?

Remind yourself that your happiness comes from within not from another person. Wish her well if you truly care for her.

Go do the things that you enjoy.

You're pretty young, correct?? I've met very few women that don't get the urge to to see what's on the other side of the fence. Especially if they've been in a relationship for 2.5 years at a young age. It's human nature to want to try different things Most likely she'll realize the single life isn't what it's cracked up to be, and come back. Just make sure, that when she does come back, you don't question what she did while you were apart. Also, you need to get out there and experience the single life as well. You might realize that she wasn't the one for you.

But seriously, that does suck. You are young and have a great future in front of you, so enjoy college life while you can.

Life's too short. As others have noted you need to forget about her and get back out there. Enjoy being young and having so many potential women to date. Pretty soon, the fish will either not be biting anymore or they will be carry bags with them.

As to your girl, if she is meant to be she will come back. Keep your chin up. Finally, don't be too upset when you see her with another dude in a week or so (trust me, she will be). Do your own thing and enjoy life. Your to young to be settled down anyway.

Normally I'd say do you really even want her back once she has decided she "needs" you? But in this case, since you are both so young, I can understand where she is coming from. I remember being 20 and being in a long term relationship and thinking we had it all figured out. Clearly we didn't since I am not with him. We ended things but remained friends and in the 4.5 years since I have grown and changed a lot. Maybe in your case you two will come back to each other but if not just remember that you are young and still have a lot left to do and learn. I didn't meet "the one" until I was almost 25.



Yeah, yeah I know it's gay that I just called wildcats "my one".

She's probably young too.

I know I broke up with my ex girlfriend a while back(I was 20 at the time as well) and we had a perfect relationship. I broke up with her because I wanted to see what else was out there, and her and I are still friends to this day. This is probably the most likely explanation, and like I said SHE WILL BE BACK!

Keep your head up, don't get discouraged, and try to move on as hard as that may be.

Keep yourself occupied is good advice. Have your buddies take you out this weekend. Forget about it for a few nights.

Keep your head up man, just remember that most people don't find the "one" that young.

I happen to have found my wife of nearly 11 years at about your current age (I was nearly 20) and we got married just before my 21st birthday, but that is so rare its unbelievable nowadays.

So, keep your head up, go out "looking", and find someone even better.
