It's the final night and #1 is playing #2, #3 is playing #4.. so on and so forth... and total points won determines who wins the leauge (so #3 or 4 could win the league if theyre close points wise to #1 and 2)

So it starts raining and only #1 and #2 finish all 9 holes. The last group only finishes 6 holes.

How do you decide who wins?
play it entirely over again next week? play only the holes u didn't finish?
What do you decide as president?

I think you have to play only the holes you didn't finish. Bad weather is a part of the game, so you can't just throw away what you have already completed.

Just like the pros. Continue where you left off, even though it may be next week instead of the next day.

I'll tell you what I'd do and what they decided to do after a few more replys.

Obviously I don't agree with what was done or this thread wouldnt have been created lol.

Throw it out and play it again was my first recation but one group finished and there are only 3 holes for the last group to play, so I say pick it up where it left off. That's what the pros would do anyway.

I would say play it again if the last group quit early and first group played through the rain and was like WTF to all the dry people at the clubhouse. that would not be fair.

I'm assuming they ended the league with the holes played since you're not happy lol

But I would just pick up where they left off the next week.

Ok we were in 1st place and leading the 2nd place team by only a point going in to the ifinal week. They were leading the 3rd place team by only 1 pt. (we were up 2 on 3rd place team)

we finished the match and won 25-15. They finished 7 and quit. we go into the clubhouse and the league president (who's in 3rd place) says we're only going to count the holes everyone played so 1-6. We lost by 1 pt to them cuz we didn't count 7,8,9. if we would have counted 7 alone (which they finished) we would have won by 1 because we won 2 pts on 7 and they didn't win any.

How can you only count partial holes?
You have to pick up where you left off.

Haha want a douche of a league president. You can't count partial holes. You should at least play it again if you don't want to finish to initial round.

We actually had this happen in our league except some teams couldn't finish due to darkness. We had a meeting in the clubhouse that night and some clowns actually suggested just using the holes that were completed. The debate got pretty heated because it affected more than just the top 3 or so teams. The league paid out the top 6 teams. We finally decided that the remaining holes would be made up the following week. The ruling your president chose was probably the worst one possible. At the very least the round should have been wiped out and restarted, but in reality the remaining holes should have been finished.

Was it possible to resume the round that evening? Did the rain stop and have enough daylight to try to finish?

Nothing pisses me off more than when league golfers hop in the car and drive away because it rained/storms... when many times it is possible to go out and finish the round.

the only reason i even bring it up is 1st place is worth $150 a piece (2 person teams) and 2nd place is only 50 a piece.
