This aint west holmes and this aint Dalton. You come to Orrville as the favorite you better bring more than that. Complete butt kickin in all phases. We are going to get better as the year progresses. Big test with 2-0 copley next week. Way to Riders! This is our house!

The D was awesome tonight, nice to have Max back. Hats off to the D coordinator and the O coordinator, game plan was as good as it could be, kids stepped up tonight. Lichti was solid tonight had a couple of picks, but shook it off and made some nice throws. Drew was solid tonight as well. Roll RED Roll!!!

Too, many holding -blocking penalties. We want to be physical and we were, but there is a limit. I had to laugh when we put the No.1 defense back in. 5 knots played under the same coach I did and we would have never left the field. But even Doug' s patience was tested tonight when they sent their 1st stringers back in for a second set of downs against our backups.

I was in a game where it was 72-0 and the other team ran a long kick off back to the 20 against our 3rd stringers and I had to find my shoulder pads when Mo called for the first stringers to be sure they didn't score again. I like the more sportsmanship attitude of today ,but I'm like 5 knots the first game of the year and their warming up I get that shiver down my spine of what it was like to wear the red and want to take on all comers. I remember when we went to scrimmage Warren Harding and beat them and Mo's wife had a baby while we were scrimmaging. We wanted Mo to call him Warren Harding Tipton, but more sane minds over ruled that decision.

I 2nd the kudos to the Def coaches. They disrupted Triway's whole passing game by having the DB's up on the line of scrimmage and bringing Max every play. Carmichael had to have nightmares about Max last night, if he wasn't to sore to sleep. Drew is going to be real good and Rice has some soft hands. Lichti was solid also. Loved that Doug put the 1st team defense back in also.

yes....I was mocked a little bit on the Orrville thread earelier by a Titan fan "trolling on ou thread" (kudos BRF) for mentioning too many times that we had 6 guys on the defense that ran 40 times below 4.6.....4 of those being our 4 LBs/DEs. With that kind of speed you can get up in the grill of a reciever and chase a QB at the same time. Max on the field last week would have been a nightmare for the slower/immobile big QB from NW. As an offensive coordinator...what do you do with him? Speed kills and it showed on both sides of the ball last night. Good luck Titans, you have nice ball club..it was just our time and our house last night.

When we play with swagger and confidence, we're tough to beat. We saw that last year vs. Genoa, and last night vs. Triway.

Funny....both times were were doubted and certainly the underdog in 1 of those games.

I think the Titan offense is a little different than what everyone percieves it to be. Most of the teams they play, the titans are faster than. So they use the short little slants, outs, and screen passes to get their receivers out in space in one on one situations. When you play the schedule they play it is very easy to have the kind of numbers that they produced last season. You get in trouble though when you can't throw down field and have a true passing attack. I don't consider the screen pass as a true pass play but merely a different way to run the ball. So when teams that run this type of "spread" offense, and play more athletic teams than them, it kills their offense because they can't beat the defender one on one. That is what happened last night. Triway's receivers could not beat the athleticism of the Riders DB's and you add all that pressure we were putting on Carmichael, it makes for a long night.

I have to credit the coaching staff for having these boys ready for this big game and to show wayne county who is the better team. Let's go Riders, build on this win and carry it in to next week at Copley.

LOL! He is busy trying to figure out what they gotta do to make the play-offs! Ha Ha! Ain't it sweet? I want Pitman to get on here and tell me that that is what he said. But, ya know what?.....Pitman is a good guy. He is a stat man and BRF likes that. And he's also a very loyal Titan fan. I appreciate that. As for Ringz....you will never see a Rider fan wearing a Brown's hat. It clashes. But we love our Browns and Buckeyes and Red Riders. Maybe you want to re-think wearing that front running Steeler hat to a HS football game! Ha ha ha ha!

Haha. I posted as soon as I got home Friday since I knew I'd have a busy weekend. I have yet to be back to my house after leaving for a campground early Saturday morning. I'm still bugged by the loss Friday night, but we can learn a lot from it and will hopefully benefit in the weeks to come!

^^Need to have a "Plan B" when a D nullifies your passing attack. Orrville had more (or at least just as many) athletes on the field and that took away Derek's ability to sit back and pick a target.

You'll be fine the rest of the way...but come playoff time, need to have a dual threat.

I'll continue to stick by my statement that Triway was better last year. Guys like Drake and Houmard made last year's team deep.

I've said that all preseason, especially about our offense. Nobody seems to agree, though... except you. Last year with Drake, Houmard, and Butcher at WR/TE, we were able to stick Polen in the backfield. Now he's almost exclusively a WR with Carr in the backfield, thus displaying our lack of depth at offensive skilled positions... and it especially hurt with Bertsch being out against Orrville, too. Hope to have him back soon!

I am 100% confident that these kids will bounce right back though. Coach Lee has done a great job leading these kids, and they are not the type to give in at the slightest bit of adversity.

Go Titans!
