It's amazing how year after year all of these "bad" teams that Big Red beats goes on to win so many games, and Big Red constantly finishes number 1 in the computer ratings.

Our schedule accomplishes three things: 1) it gives us a boatload of computer points; 2) it prepares us for the playoffs; and 3) we make a lot of money. I could even add a fourth: it makes things exciting for the fans.

What else do we need???

Just b/c someone makes an opinion that goes against Big Red..doesn't make them a 'hater'. Again...maybe some posters need to quit being so sensitive.

All valid points...And IF this person is, what you say she is, then fine. But, the comment not her opinion, still stands. That's the one and only thing ,I took point with.

I think this yrs schedule helps us in one way that many do not see as of yet. That's the scheduling of Wv schools. All 3 teams play each other. So we will get points either way.

I dont see too many opposing teams with losing records maybe Wheeling Park and one other maybe . I just hope playoff time we are healthy but the schedule is great . Its like we were a college team ,playing teams from all over and very good ones

It's tough to tell this early. I hope it just don't turn into a season like 93'. Going 9-1 and missing the playoffs. ouch!!!!

What happened to Big Red's JV team? I heard they got thumped by Fitch last Saturday. On their home field to boot???

I didn't go to the game but I heard that Big Red's JV's didn't look too bad. They ran the ball up and down the field but just couldn't push it in. We only lost 7-0.

Don't worry about that. If we go 9-1 against this schedule, we will end up first in our region.

For a large number of schools you can draw a correlation between the JVs and the next years varsity team; with Big Red you can't do that. So it doesn't matter if Fitch's JVs were horrible or world beaters, the play of Big Red's JVs is in no way an indication as to how the team will be next year.

first if we go 7-3 we will get a home game in the playoffs 6-4 and we are in .
Also Big Red losing to Fitch in a JV game is no indication as to what we will be . Food for thought maybe we would like to get Fitch on the schedule . LOL.
I need directions to Woodland Hills . I dont have a printer .

clairton, they did not hire him as a head coach...yough.is the bottom of the barrel, jeanette had so many talented athletes......and now he is gonna save the world? I do not think so....like I said ,he is gonna be exposed, along with the wpial,I would be very surprised if the the pennsylvania teams won any games at this rally. These are supposed to be the cream of the crop in western pa.,but thats why i follow big red.....

What gets me is Steubenville never gets the national respect . Some years we should be in the regional rankings Woodland Hills is #10 on east coast USA today . Ohio for that matter is getting low balled this year . Every stinking year I see a team from WPIAL in the rankings . I hope we win again and I dont care what others say lets just win .

So you let Fitch's JV win so they would schedule your varsity squad??? Now I've heard it all. That might be the most idiotic comment ever from a Big Red poster...and there have been many.

When you bring JV stuff like this up people like me might make a crack like I did because this is supposed to be about Big Red vs McKeesport not some 8th grade pickup game on our home field .hehehehe big friggin deal then when I joke back you call me an idiot along with several of my other Big Red posters before me . Its obvious you wanted to start some crap in the first place ,well here I am and I got more football knowledge in my pinky than you will ever have .

I was at the Fitch Reserve game. Big Red moved the ball fairly easily, but got into the red zone over and over and came away empty....penalities, dropped TD's, and such.

Fitch didn't look terrible, they had the one nice drive where they scored, and the QB was pretty mobile.

People have to realize that there is no game planning for a reserve game...no coaches in the pressbox...no headphones. You just go out there and run your basic plays.

He was the OCoordinator at Jeanette. And I know he was not the Head ball coach at Clairton, both those programs were horrible before he got there. My point was, Reno was never a HS head ball coach when BR hired him. He was a junior high coach, then an asst. the rest is history. lol Besides McKeesport does not need saving. They were not in dire straits under Smith. He will do fine. This QB will mature under his leadership.

I've seen every Florida team that's playing in the Rally in person. I think if Woodland Hills can tackle well in space they can compete vs Manatee. And Woodland Hills is built on defense. Should be a good match up.

IMO its not good for a team to 1. open up with BIG RED 2. have a new coach open up with BIG RED ... I love how BIG RED threads haven now become talking about the JVs .. Whats next Freshman ,Harding, or ever better the Steubenville Tigers?
