That was exactly my point, IT HAPPENS EVERYWHERE. Athletes often take the easy route academically, including Clausen and Tate. Communications majors are a joke.

OK, its ugly now for UNC. 12 players out, maybe 15.

Six North Carolina starters -- defensive tackle Marvin Austin, cornerback Charles Brown, cornerback Kendric Burney, wide receiver Greg Little, defensive end Michael McAdoo and defensive end Robert Quinn -- have been declared ineligible for the Tar Heels' season-opening game against No. 21 LSU for "violating school and/or NCAA rules," the university announced Friday.

Three more defensive starters -- linebackers Quan Sturdivant and Bruce Carter and safety Deunta Williams -- are not traveling with the team but hope to be cleared in time to play Saturday.

Its 15 now. Yeah, it stinks. I would rather them play each other full strength. I believe LSU has 4 starters injured for this game anyways. This wont help LSU (if they win) in the polls.
There will be some funny signs at college gameday from LSU fans about the UNC situation though.

Butch Davis could be fired before the season is over the way this is looking. This is not good for the Tar Heels. I wonder if they will get the same type of sanctions that USC got; loss of bowl eligibility for two years, four years of probation, loss of 30 scholarships over three years, etc.

Hell of a comeback by UNC tonight. 2 great shots to win it in the end zone in the final seconds.

Nearly epic meltdown day in the SEC. Tarheels had no business being in that game with what they fielded. Great performance from Yates.

Probably interference on the last one. The screen for 5 yards from about the 10 yard line with 15 seconds left was a terrible decision. They got the 5 yards but lost another shot to go into the endzone and shortened up the field for the defense.

I think Butch is finished. He will get fired or resign at seasons end and I think his coaching career is over unless he heads off to some smaller school.

Of head back to the NFL. One could argue he's the best coach the Browns have had since their rebirth.

North Carolina's four-star QB commit, Everett Golson, has set a visit to Notre Dame. He must think UNC may become USC-East in terms of who is in the NCAA's doghouse.

I did see that last week sometime. He still considers himself a solid commitment, which would make it odd that he is setting up visits.
