yeah.... he would come in during pass plays he is not as fast as the other QB but he is not horrible

But please remember Maynard, Coshocton and Ridgewood both have that magical thing that levels the playing field called "open enrollment" You know all of those Div. I caliber athletes we have populating Coshocton County. You know, the County that only has 35,000 people in it, and one town with over 10,000. Hell, I think OHSAA should not allow open enrollment at these two schools as it surely gives them and unfair advantage. Never mind the fact that I don't think ONE player on either roster lives outside the boundries that the State of Ohio has set up for their districts.

I agree we are playing a tougher team but I still think coshocton could pull of a win

Congratulations to Coshocton for a very good season. I'm sorry that the hard working average catholic kids will beat your hard working average kids tomorrow night in a stadium that is too small for a matchup of this caliber. I hope your fans are as disappointed in the OHSSA as are the Alter fans. This event should be as showcase fro High school football,other wiseit should be played in Dayton or Coshocton like any other matchup. It's my undertanding that the Alter #1 QB will be under center for the game and Beyers will be in his normal role on Defense.

Which two from that list do you credit with being good. I'd say it's a toss up between those seven including Coshocton this year. I'm not that familiar with Akron Manchester or Coshocton this year but all the others have exellent squads. In fact they all are strong teams year in and out except for W. Muskingum. I hope the Tornadoes can turn their recent success into a lasting tradition, it'll give Sheridan some more competition. W. M. is one of the two schools that beat Sheridan this year, the other was Tri-Valley. I'm pulling for Coshocton, picking Alter, but the gap between teams in this round is never very much.

OK Krebs, fair enough, I had you pegged as one of those who think Alter recruits. I baited you and you never used the term. I'll address your point. Alter sits very near the boundry of Kettering and Centerville. 65 of 70 players come from Kettering and Centerville schools. Only 1 starter comes from the other 5 kids (he transferred from a public school for a non-althletic reason). There are 3 primary Catholic schools feeding Alter: St. Charles (Kettering), St. Albert (Kettering) and Incarnation (Centerville). 88% of the players come from these schools. It should be noted that many Catholics go Centerville (D-1) and some go to Fairmont (D-1 Kettering). Also in the Dayton Area, CJ (D-3), Carroll (D-2), and Fenwick (D-4) complete with Alter for enrollment among the Catholic schools. So the city/rural thing cuts both ways. As I look through the roster, I know of an Alter connection (e.g. parent, sibling) for nearly every player. If you look at Alter's history it is modest and success has not come overnight. They have grown their program learning from failures and successes. BTW, Alter used to draw kids from a wider region when it's enrollment was nearly double than what is is now (30 years ago). They were a 0.500 program back then. You're making a mistake if you discount great coaching, hard work and confidence. You're right public schools can have these, and many do.

Winning titles is the best recruiting tool there is.
