I think I know your view, but per the rules, state your opinion in more detail.

I think his opinion is that he is ticked the Obama's are on vacation yet again. Two weeks Michelle took the girls and 60 of her friends to Spain. Last week Obama and his girls were splashing in the waters of the Gulf. Now they are in Martha's Vinyard.

Presidential vacations have never really bothered me, at least not all that much. They are simply never really given a day off.
As per the topic, I'd much rather have a President "vacation" in the states rather than drop a dime in another country. That's just me and my preference.

Were you so upset at G.W. spending hundreds of days at his ranch during his stay at the White House? Or what about Reagan spending so much time in Santa Barbara?

They all take "vacations" but they are all still able to do their duties and it's not like they are really getting time off. Why do you think they age so freaking much? It was a stupid argument when the Democrats whined about G.W. Bush spending so much time at his ranch and it's just as stupid now with Republicans and Obama.

I'm sure he's going to be completely out of contact and not do any work over this period. /sarcasm

There are any number of things of which to be critical of the president, but this is knucklehead stuff.

Not sure if your post was directed at me; I'll assume not, as I was merely interjecting that unemployment continues to worsen.

I might suggest though, that the president consider summer vacation reading materials covering free market capitalism so as to broaden his horizons a bit.

It was directed towards anyone making a fuss about something stupid. Feel free to bitch about his policies and such all you want. That's what we're here for. But please at least make it something legitimate (not that I have to approve the things you don't like but I think we all know this is ridiculous).

Broadening horizons is never a bad idea. Perhaps we should all do the same? I'll re-read The Wealth of Nations and you can read some Keynes or something.

If I'm a House Dem fighting for election in November, anything that could affect a voter's decision isn't stupid. This trip doesn't bother me, as mentioned above at least it is in the U.S. and was planned well in advance to have an outing before the kids go back to school, but this is 2010, and we are suffering from the worst economy in most of our lifetimes, and there are hundreds of thousands if not millions of households cutting back or cancelling vacations this year (including this one).

Good Public Servant just like business owner are never far away from the work of a day to day of events. Those that have power, authority and responsibilities have it 24/7
I could care less about vacation time I care more about the quality, competency and knowledgeable wisdom of the decision process of the individual on a work day (which is every day).

However because it’s my nickel spend it in my country….. Public Servant

And why would you do that unless you are trying to bash the President for being on vacation

The further away from the White House Obama is, the more I like it. Quite frankly I'd be OK if he'd stay on vacation until January 2013.

Agreed- let the man and his family take a vacation. This is about 1,324th on the "things to criticize Obama for" list.

Maybe every single Dem in Congress can vacate for the next 70+ days instead of taking a wrecking ball to our country.

I can't wait to see Obama and Michelle on vacation come January, 2013. That's a vacation I will applaud.

Its the cost of his vacations that is an issue. At least if it was at the Bush Ranch or Camp David, there are already infrastructure there to handle protecting the President, housing the Secret Service, and Aides as well as facilities to handle the day to day business of the President and his aides. Small $s, but at least those places are already paid.

Agree, but isn't it funny how the media isn't making anywhere near as much out of Obama's vacationing like they did with Bush?

I read a report in the AP discussing how Michelle Obama was getting grilled and being compared to Marie Antoinette...

I think he will get re-elected. The voters prefer the devil that they know over the devil that they don't know. The Repubs haven't promoted anyone who is a true presidential possibility. Romney won't get elected because he is a Mormon. Pelin won't get elected because, well, she's Pelin. It goes on and on. Plus, there is a good possibility that the economy will improve in the next two years. That's all the voters really care about.
