JetBlue attendant slides down emergency chute after fight with passenger

http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_upshot/20100809/od_yblog_upshot/jetblue-attendent-slides-down-emergency-chute-after-fight-with-passenger
A "heated" exchange ensued, which culminated in Slater walking to the rear of the plane, where he grabbed the intercom. "To the passenger who called me a motherf***er, f*** you!" Slater yelled, passengers tell the New York Daily News. "I've been in the business 28 years. I've had it. That's it." He activated the emergency chute and slid away. Slater then walked along the jetway into the terminal, where he took a shuttle to the employee parking lot. Observers watched as he ripped off his JetBlue tie and threw it to the ground. Slater got into his vehicle and drove to his home in Queens. According to the New York Times' Ray Rivera, he was arrested shortly afterward and faces charges of criminal mischief and trespassing.

A source tells WNBC that Slater was "having a bad day."
Would have been funny to see!

I don't get the trespassing either? I would have been dying if I heard a flight attendant come on the intercom and do that but probably would have applauded him. I hate people on planes that don't follow the rules/listen etc...If the guy stood up and was getting his bags before technically allowed the passenger should have been confronted!

Haha. My cousin is a pilot for JetBlue who flies out of Pittsburgh, I'll have to find out if he was the pilot.

I believe the trespassing charge is because nobody other than authorized personal is allowed on the runways and tarmac.

doing the math in my head, he's been a flight attendant since he was 11. Jetblue may have some child labor charges to answer to.

"i've been in the business for 28 years"

"Slater, 39, was arrested at his home..."

This is the better part of the article when they went to arrest him:
Slater was later arrested at his home in Belle Harbor by Port Authority officials. Police sources said that when authorities found Slater he seemed to be in the midst of "having sexual relations".

This story just keeps getting better and better.

Okay, when they arrested him he was in the middle of sexual relations (see story cited above).

Also in this article some other passengers dispute the claims and say he started it all!
