No one is being sensitive, footwedge is the one busting a nut over this. I bet this story made his whole week.

Its just funny seeing a bunch of steelers fans on this forum, and each of them have their own story/novel of why they are steelers fans.

Better than just "well I was born there so it's who I HAVE to cheer for"

have you ever heard the term "front runner"?Footwedge;444270 wrote:I also don't understand how someone could be born and raised 20 minutes from Columbus Ohio, and somehow root for Pittsburgh.
I'm surprised you're not a Michigan fan as well.

No, the funny thing is some OSU fans complain about how that call at the end of the '03 Fiesta Bowl still gets brought up yet if Steeler fans do something similar regarding Super Bowl XL we're labeled "sensitive." Funny how it's justified when one group of fans does that but you must be "sensitive" (or "thenthitive" if you're footwedge) if you're part of a fan base that someone dislikes.Pick6;444572 wrote:Hahaha its funny these Steelers fans being so sensitive, yet they get on OSU fans about it
In other "get over it" news, LeBron thanked Cleveland fans today while in Akron.......

Let's not forget that the state of Ohio has no NFL team, the cities of Cleveland and Cincy do, Columbus does not. I have no geographical allegiance.

this thread is golden...who cares if you were born in ohio and root for pittsburgh, and who cares if you were born in pittsburgh and root for the browns. If you feel the need to justify yourself for liking a certain team, then you are a dumbass

Yeah...as if the Ohio State/Miami game was anywhere remotely similar to this Super Bowl on one-sided calls. The PI in the end zone on Miami was eerily similar to the the play in the Steeler game. How they could call that offensive PI is truly remarkable. But that call started an valanch of bad calls in the Steeler favor. Compare and contrast that with the national title game. The fact is...had they had instant replay available, OSU would have been kneeling on the ball and there never would have even an overtime period.killer_ewok;444593 wrote:No, the funny thing is some OSU fans complain about how that call at the end of the '03 Fiesta Bowl still gets brought up yet if Steeler fans do something similar regarding Super Bowl XL we're labeled "sensitive." Just because 63% voted that way does not mean they understand the rules of the game.Footwedge;444287 wrote: This, inspite of the fact that the national audience voted 63% that the game was decided by poor officiating.

I also concur. I thought it was a mistake live, on the replay and now.

He won't because it was the correct call. There are three options here; you know anything about football, your delusional or your trolling.

In the big picture.... nothing. In the big picture, sports is actually pretty irrelevant too. Those that are passionate about sports though, typically align themselves with the local teams. As I said above, it's a civic pride thing. If LJ is born and raised in Ohio and wants to root for Pittsbpuke and their urine colored pants, well then good for him. I prefer to root for my hometown high school, my hometown state school, and my home town professional team...no matter how shitty they are.
I grew up in Shaker Hts....and would never dream of rooting for another city's teams. I moved to Pittsburgh in 1968 (Monroeville), and felt really sorry for the pitiful Steelers. Jesus God they were awful. Kent Nix? LOL. The first year I lived there, Pittspuke was 1 and 15...I think their only win that year was a 3-0 snoozer over the Eagles. Maybe I'll google it and get a good laugh.

COLUMBUS HAS NO NFL TEAM. COLUMBUS HAS NO HOMETOWN TEAM. YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID.

This is my thread...as such...you are the troll. It was a horrible call...and if you are indeed a football ref, you should be ashamed of yourself. Both players had their hands on each other equally. When the pass was in the air, the players separated. The flag came out a good 10 seconds after the pay was over.Sonofanump;444645 wrote:He won't because it was the correct call. Hey troll. You might want to read the post I linked. 5 years after the fact, this referee comes out in agreement with the 63%.

I guess you could sit at home on your couch and be wrong and I could get paid to be on the field.

The official stated he made two mistakes, he did not state he impacted the outcome of the game. Failure in deductive reasoning.
Mr. Holmgren has always been cordial to me when I see him on field, how about you?

LOL....yeah someday I hope to be a real life moderator just like you. BTW, the LLC costs were dead nuts on the money. Your personal cyberspace vendetta against me once again rears it's ugly head. ROTF. It's only a matter of time before you lose your temper and ban me altogether.
