What's predictable is you coming onto or or starting threads about the Steelers to troll on, that's predictable. If you don't like potshots against the Stains, then A) Either pray they get better so people can't take shots at them (unlikely) or B) Change your team.Footwedge;444443 wrote:Muhahahaha. I never said squat about the other 5 rings. I'm talking about the Seattle game. The one where the refs cheated Seattle. But just as I had predicted, not one Steeler fan has nor ever will acknowledge that that Lombardi trophy was tainted.
And then the usual pot shot at the Browns. So predictable. I'm old enough to remember the Browns kicking Pittsburgh's ass year after year after year.
You say you're old enough to remember the Brown's kicking the Steelers ass every year (apparently not enough to have the overall series lead now favor the Steelers) but you're probably the typical OSU fan who gloats over the Buckeyes success over Michigan over the last decade and yet still overlooks the fact that UM still holds the overall series lead over OSU and would be in an uproar over a UM fan saying "I remember when Michigan kicked OSU's ass year after year.
You really are a jealous fool. Sad. Pathetic actually.

Actually, the only failure I see is you, probably like that in your life too.
That PI you reference was the correct call, the guy pushed off. And before you open your ignorant yapper again, it was a ticky tac call but a WR should know better than to fully extend his arms, you'll get called 99% of the time!

Footwedge;444446 wrote:Why? True sports fans have a civic pride in rooting for their own city's teams..and to a lesser extent, their home state's team. Do people who grew up in Worthington root for Dublin's high school teams? Die hard, gritty fans form allegiances and bond together that way. It's the way sports shold be. Other fans root for teams outside of their locale because they like the uniform colors, sexy cheer leaders....whatever. I'll never understand it. But that's just me.
So if you root for a team outside of your city you aren't a true sports fan? That could be one of the most retarded things I've read on here. And they would be saying a lot! I love where I'm from. I like Ohio, but to say I should have to like Ohio sports teams just b/c this is where I'm from is just idiotic. I'll never understand that. But that's just me.

You're a liar because NO WHERE in that link you posted does it say the official "cheated" or "purposely" made those calls in favor of Pittsburgh........the title of this thread says he "cheated". You clearly lied and made it up!
BTW, there were a bunch of bad calls in that game and a bunch of "no calls" in that game too, they might as well of put James Harrison in a straight jacket because he was held on every single play, unblockable! As others have pointed out, your hatred or IMO,your lack of a brain, won't make mention of that or the divisional game against the Colts which had numerous blwon calls against the Steelers.

Footwedge's whole geography argument is the dumbest shit. I grew up watching the Steelers and visiting an uncle who lived in Pittsburgh. Why would I have to have an allegiance to a team in a city I have been to twice in my life (both cleveland and cincy)?

Black and God syndrome??? Well, it is my personal belief that Jesus was black. Anyways....
Leavy admitted to making mistakes, not cheating. Either your reading comprehension sucks or you're a spin doctor. Either way....it's not good.
To recap.....making mistakes does not equal cheating.

"Cheating" "Debacle"...these words are overly dramatic for the situation.
I am a Steeler's fan...While watching that game, I was ecstatic that they won the Super Bowl, but will admit that a few times I told my son that the questionable calls seem to be going against the Seahawks...I can't explain it, but the feeling was different from the other 5 (yes thats 6 total) wins. I think its because people would continue to question this game and create arguments like this. Somehow lessening the great story that the Steelers were that year.
Oh and btw....get over it....

No relevance at all to the thread. None. But to be honest...I enjoy gloating when my team wins. Jealous of what? I'm jealous of Steeler fans? LOL. This is an anonymous blog site. Nothing more....nothing less. Back to the subject at hand. The ref said he blew calls in the Super Bowl helping Pittsburgh win. Care to comment about this? How many other Super Bowls have refs come out and publicly admitted they blew it?You really are a jealous fool. Sad. Pathetic actually.
I would like to see even one Steeler fan acknowledge this ref...and admit their team benefited from one sided officiating. Won't happen. Never happens. If the Browns won a Super bowl this way, I'd be the first in line acknowledging the horrible officiating.

On the NFL and "well officiated game". Now that is some funny, funny shit. So well officiated, that a ref comes out of the closet a full 5 years after the fact.....wanting to clear his conscience. Maybe Goodell will fine this guy for tarnishing the league's reputation.

Officiating mistakes are part of sports. If the calls went the Steelers way, tough. Go eff yourself. They still came out the victors and had the massive parade in downtown Pittsburgh and the trophy looks nice and shiny next to the others.
You were just jealous that the Steelers won that Super Bowl and couldn't take the fact that they won. Then they won another one a few years later. And shoved it in your face, again.
Think about it, why would the officials purposely cheat for the Steelers? They lost in the playoffs a bunch of other times. If the officials can be paid off by the Steelers, then the Redskins and Cowboys would pay ten times as much and win all the time.

Were there are couple missed calls that went the Steelers way in Super Bowl XL? I think so. However, there were a couple missed calls against the Steelers earlier that postseason vs. the Colts. Guess what? The Steelers still won the game. The Seahawks evidently weren't good enough to overcome a couple missed calls. Tough shit.
It's like how Miami(FL) fans/OSU "haters" still bitch about the 2003 Fiesta Bowl and the PI call at the end of the game. Get over the shit.

Coming out of the closet??? It's not like he's saying that he smokes pole. The guy admitted that he missed a couple of calls. He also stated that he "did the best he could have at the time."Footwedge;444561 wrote:On the NFL and "well officiated game". Now that is some funny, funny shit. If the ref missed calls that's not the Steelers fault. All they can do is play the game and adjust to the circumstances. If the ref comes out and says there was some conspiracy for the Steelers to win the game, the commissioner ordered them to cheat or something like that, then I'd admit it was crooked but just having missed calls is part of sports.Footwedge;444548 wrote:I would like to see even one Steeler fan acknowledge this ref...and admit their team benefited from one sided officiating. In the Indianapolis playoff game that year, Troy Polamalu had a game-clinching interception in the fourth quarter when the Colts were down by three touchdowns. The officials made a terrible call changing an interception to an incompletion, even though Polamalu came down with the ball clearly and started to run before losing. The reversal allowed the Colts to stay in the game and they nearly came back and won. The Steelers kept playing and advanced anyway.
That's the only way I'm going to look at this. No apologies whatsoever. If the Steelers fans played a part in intimidating the refs, helping to influence some calls, to me that just speaks of the power our great fans have.
