Nobody being cheated by raising the age. It is just an obviously needed adjustment based on the increasing lifespan. When Social Security was started the average lifespan was 62 years, now it is 78. For the young people entering the system, it could easily be well into the 90s. Any SS reform needs to involve reduction of current benefits. If granny doesn't like it she can move in with her kids, assuming they have a job and can afford a house.
