Cubs have started not trying to kill the ball and are getting hits

Reds TEAM needs to do same thing....not just one or two players

Bronson with a great job getting out of 2nd and 3rd with no out. Did the job by pitching mostly up in the zone until that last low side curveball for the final K after Castro wouldn't go for the high fastball!

Yes, with the wind blowing in, you'd think that they'd do that from the beginning. Hanigan got lucky and hit it right on the screws for the HR, which fueled the "kill it" mindset.

Hanigan wasn't trying to hit a HR...just a line drive gapper which he was pitched

damnit it Chris they won't get hot again....teams scout and know thesse guys tendencies....they only hit horrible pitches right now....and those are few and far between

I can't fathom Gomes watching himself swing today and not see his head fly off the ball as much as any big leaguer I've ever seen......Brook Jacoby and Dusty Baker to the rescue.......at least Phillips shortens up with 2 strikes to avoid a 3rd horrid swing and often produces a hit in doing so.

Nice job Welsh.....act like you knew it was Gary Mathews when you gave one of the worst guesses available.

I heard your answer before you looked it up.

Let them hit the ground balls to the left side on Bronson's "stuff" all day long!

I'm not saying that he was going for a HR, just that he was lucky to hit it so perfectly that it went out, making everybodies eyes light up for the worst.

Big RBI by BP! That 3rd run makes it much better to work with for the pitchers.

Single! To 2B on the throw home. That shows how important that run was to the cubs as they let another runner in scoring position by trying to throw out the runner at the plate.

Bronson and Hanigan get it back with a "strike-em-out, throw-em-out" double play after the ump misses the 2-1 pitch that was really a strike. Then Gomes finishes off the 7th with a good play!
