Excluding slums like Gary, East St. Louis.

My #1 is Charlotte, followed by Orlando.

Charlotte is a good call but I'd go with Atlanta as well.

Tough call here ... I have only been there once, for a short time, but Oakland, CA was certainly sketchy.

Not a big fan of Philadelphia either. I love cheesesteaks, but overall its a pretty trashy city, even with its interesting historical sites.

Newark, NJ is a complete shithole as well, but that is like saying the sky is blue.

The only thing I know of Newark is the airport, and it makes me want to kick babies.

Detroit for me. Have been there a few times and it's just very dirty and gloomy there. Even some areas downtown are pretty terrible.

Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, and st louis no perticular order. They all just suck there is some good parts of them but to me the bad parts far out weight them.

Detroit for the same reasons noted by the above poster. You can even throw Toledo in the mix there as well.
The entire state of New Jersey. I never liked it ever, but the recent reality TV shows have really done a # on me and I have grown even more intolerant of those stupid guidos.
Terre Haute, IN. This falls into the category of Gary. Terre Haute has a sulfur factory in town and the whole town reeks of it. The place makes Lima look like La Jolla, Ca.
Memphis. Bad Boys, Bad Boys, What'cha gonna do? What'cha gonna do when the come for you. (Enough Said).
New Orleans. Don't get me wrong there is great culture and I enjoy looking at young girls taking their shirts offf in exchange for beads as much as the next guy. However, the French quarter is filthy. I have to take two showers whenever I get out of that place just to get all the grime off my body. What's more, the town has turn into the poster child city for do-gooders across this freaking country. I know I sound intolerant and cruel, but how much freaking cash and charity do they actually need? I have no respect for people who expect other people to take care of their surroundings for them.

Steubenville is without question the biggest little shithole in America. As for large shitholes...you have to really look hard to find an overall craptown as bad as Detroit.

When a city loses half its population, taken as a group it's usually not the best and brightest that remain.

Least favorite:

1. Detroit - just damn scary....everywhere
2. Philadelphia - the absolute worst people in the world; mean, hateful, and no customer service
3. Cleveland - nothing really good going on, plus my GPS sent to a deadend under a bridge without about 30 seemingly homeless and or drug addict types ... cracker rolling up in a Caddy wasn't a great feeling
4. New York City - sure, there's lots to do but there's also 340967395648956045 people doing them...just feels dirty to me
5. Atlanta - lots of cool stuff that sitting in traffic can prevent one from doing

Other non-faves: Chicago, Charleston WV, Charlotte, Baltimore, Pittsburgh

For the record, I do like places such as Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Dallas, New Orleans, Miami, Louisville, Lexington, Phoenix, and even Des Moines

Why is Charlotte so bad? My wife and I... and a bunch of friends went to a wedding there this year. We had an absolute blast for a few days. Maybe my blood alcohol content affected my feelings, but I thought it was pretty cool.

There are great parts to Jacksonville, FL just have to know where to go or look. The problem is when good areas/parts become known the thugs and trash slowly start taking them over!!

I spent a few days downtown there and there was NOTHING ... seemed like the downtown consisted of parking structures on top of other parking structures, with no neighborhoods or dining/drinking establishments to be found.
