For the third straight summer, no one knows what Brett Favre will decide. Will he return? Will he retire? He is dragging out the process, yet again. Now, even Favre's own agent, Bus Cook, is tired of the drama. According to Men's Journal, Cook angrily ranted to Favre about him contacting ESPN's Ed Werner to state that he needs ankle surgery to play in 2010.

"Now why did he do that," Cook said to Men's Journal. "...Goddammit, why does he have to be such a goddamned drama queen? Play, don't play, goddamn, people are getting sick of it. It's just Brett being Brett. He is throwing at the Hattiesburg, Miss high school. Coach Childress is flying in to tell him he is wanted. Only about another month until training camp ends. Soon enough Rachel Nichols will be camped out on Favre's front lawn talking about how Brett was out cutting the grass or clearing some brush. A little later he miraculously decide he is coming back again for a supposed last run, and all is right with the world.

I get sick of this yearly.

It's todays media that turns everything into a circus. If they wouldn't bring it up everyday we wouldn't be asking it everyday.

By the way, Favre is the man. Once he does decide to play, he plays and doesn't miss a game unlike others.

I understand the waffling, the never wanting to let go but feeling like maybe its time. I've seen my dad retire twice and go back to work and he's no drama queen. I don't know if Favre is asking for everyone to follow his day-to-day life or if the media just does it because there ain't much else going on. Personally, I lost interest a long time ago so I either switch the channel or find something else to do when all the Favre talk starts.

I hope he comes back again...it makes me smile watching him choke away a season with a crazy pass.

He will continue this yearly circus until he finally embarrasses himself on the field as well as off it.
Then we will start the countdown to Canton.

By the way, Favre is the man.

I agree whole heartedly, the NFL is a better place when he is in it. Favre games last year routinely drew the highest ratings in the league.

I think all of the "will he, won't he" would dissipate if his team would just say show up on August 20th or so ready to play. He has to use retirement as an excuse to avoid training camp. He clearly doesn't need it, and if anyone on the team bitches (which they won't) you tell them they can do the same thing when they are 20 year vets coming off a 33td, 4,000 yard passing season with a QB rating over 108.

You don't think guys like Sydney Rice, Shank or Percy aren't pleading with Favre to comeback after the production they had last year. In one year with Favre Rice went from being considered a bust to a top 5 receiver in the NFL.

They even got a new toy for Favre to play with in Toby Gerhart.

Favre maybe a bit of a drama queen, but it is only because of the training camp issue as I really believe that if they would just openly excuse him from it we wouldn't have to go through this farce every off season.

Favre doesn't want to do training camp, at this point, any more. That's all there is to it, nothing more, nothing less. He'll decide the first or second week of August he's coming back. Book it.

So, abusing prescription painkillers is okay because it is a victimless crime or because he admitted to it?

Getting addicted to something that a doctor prescribed you is much different than getting addicted to cocaine, weed or even alcohol.

Brett stepped up to the plate, admitted to it, and handled it like a man.
