The WORST. Those of you that were born and raised in Ohio that root for the Lakers, Cowboys, MJ's Bulls, Celtics, USC, Florida, etc....are the worst fan bases in all of sports. Even people that are transplanted somewhere else that jump ship and root for other teams are bandwagon jumpers. You have know idea how true Cleveland Sports fans feel!! When I moved to Florida at the age of 19 I didn't abandon my Ohio roots and start rooting for Florida teams. I stayed true to the state that gave me life, schooled me, etc....This isn't about LeBron leaving, it's about the way he left. He shafted them by not giving them a heads up and now they are handcuffed to improve for this upcoming season. True fans have the right to be angry, Dan Gilbert has more of a right to be angry and as it has been floating around, there is a side of LBJ I don't think most fans know about.

I live in Florida yes but like any die hard fan of Cleveland sports fan I still spend my money in Ohio. I travel there multiple times a year. I buy tons of Indians, Browns, and Cavs (mainly LBJ) merchandise. This decision went beyond sports. The economical impact of Jame's decision is major on a small market team like Cleveland. The rich get richer in pro sports and the little guys just come to play mostly knowing they have no shot even before the season started.

I personally am thankful for the 7 seasons he gave the Cavs, he took the franchise to new heights, but not the heights he promised. He then bolts with no heads up to those that made him richer than rich! He could have left in the right manner and it wouldn't have been as big of a blow (though big) not as big as last night. Lebron lost a lot of respect last night, NOT JUST FROM CLEVELAND FANS, but from people across the country. Win your titles with Wade's team but your not a warrior. You are a coward that didn't even have the gull to go face to face.

Life will go on for us Cleveland fans it always does, it just hurts more! We will stay loyal, I won't jump ship and be a Heat Fan, I don't root for the player. Prime example for me, Jim Thome is my favorite Indian ever, and always will be. But I didn't root for the Phillies, the White Sox, or now the Twins, nor Thome. I root for the Indians and wish Thome well but hope he strikes-out every time he's in the box against an Indians pitcher!

In closing, bandwagon fans will never know how it really feels to see your state and or city win a championship. I remember how I finally felt in 2002 when the Buckeyes got that monkey off their backs and it felt great. Someday I certainly hope we can all share the feeling of a super bowl, world series, or nba title for the city of Cleveland. Until then support them and those businesses impacted by this decision. I don't live there any longer but my heart is always there and my money goes there too!!

Almost the entire LeBron-era crop of Cavs fans joined when he got drafted and started the re-birth of the franchise. It was one of the biggest bandwagon fan bases ever created. Now, he's gone, and with him will go probably 80-90% of people who claimed to be Cavalier fans.

I feel awful for the other 10-20% that loved the franchise regardless.

Miami is a shitty sports town. I think there are too many transplants down there for them to really have alot of passion for their teams. There will be plenty of Heat bandwagon jumpers right now.

I'll admit. There have been quite a few bandwagon fans since the Lebron era. I sat through ALOT of shitty basketball for the Cavs to get to this point. Teams with Andrew Declerq starting at center. Guys like Brevin Knight, Bobby Sura..........I'm talking awful basketball. I was a fan then and I will be a fan now. This is a kick in the stomach to the diehard fans.

The Cavs as an organization, switched to the "new" wine and gold when Bron came. It sounds as if Gilbert wants to totally erase Bron from the Cavs, why not go back to the old colors?? I think it would be a great move.

I gotta admit after living in Florida since 95 I am tired of Blue and Orange, LOL. I wouldn't mind it, I always loved it when the Cavs of new wore the throwbacks!

So, people who adopt sports teams outside of their own state are horrible. And he should have singlehandedly won a title? Or never promised a title - he should have said, "I'm here to make sure that Cleveland has the best regular season record but I'm not going to win a title." Then he would have been straight? And he should have personally called everyone who ever bought a jersey or went to a game, because he probably has a list of all those people. Great for you. What return do you get on that investment? When your team is shitty, do you get a refund? How is your loyalty repaid? You like a particular jersey. Awesome. That doesn't make you a better person than someone who follows certain players. It is just a different preference. Would you keep buying cars from a salesman who always sold you a shitty one? Would you keep eating at a restaurant that always gave you food poisoning? You love your grandma - would you take her to a kegger with you?

It is ludricous to treat sports as something different than any other aspect of life. People like things for different reasons. If it makes you feel better to think you are a better "fan", okay. Nobody else really gives a fuck because we don't measure ourselves or our own success/failure in life by how a group of people to which we have no personal association performs.

Now is the time Cavs fans can prove us all wrong. They say they aren't bandwagon Lebron era fans, well let's see. Attendance should at least stay the same next year. (I have my doubts about whether that will happen)

The worse kind of fans are those fans who try and tell other fans who they should root for and why.

i'll give you an example of the fans i hate:

i have 6 buddies who are beligerent, obnoxious, die hard steelers fans (and i mean that in the same vein as I'm a beligerent, obnoxious, die hard dolphins fan, i.e. it's not an insult). 10 years ago (during the kordell stewart years, i.e. when they weren't that good) 3 of those guys loved the packers, 2 of them loved the broncos, and only 1 of them was a steelers fan. those are the fuckers that i hate, giving me shit for the dolphins 1-15 season when they jump fucking ship every february. i about punched one of them in the fucking head at my wedding.

I stuck with the Penguins during their shitty years (2003-2006) as well as being a lifetime fan and, hell who wants to be a Pirates fan? I've been a fan of them my entire life. As for the Packers, I was around 5 or 6 when I watched Favre played and I've been a fan ever since.

I just dont see why you and others cant let Cavs fans do some venting without attempting to call out every post that may be a little over board. Yesterday sucked ass and a lot of people are just pissed. People who are saying Lebron is just gonna be Robin to Wades Batman know thats not true, but want to just find any and all reasons to try and shit on Lebron. And it should be expected for a month or so.(and when the season starts back up)

I think the worst sports fans are the ones who do not commit to a team. Instead, they just float aimlessly save for the fact they are the first ones there to discredit a particular accomplishment or throw in a condescending remark. There are a couple on here.
