Yes no titles yet my friend, but I will stack up SP's 13 playoff appearance in the last 15 years with now 6 semi finalist appearances and 3 state runners up. Never would I compare NC with SP, you did that. Last I looked this was a thread about SP playing GCC and comparing the playoff tradition of thsoe two schools.... and NC is at home reading this forum and not practicing anyhow

Just have to add my 2 cents on Ashland as a Regional championship site. IMO the visiting stands are totally inadequate. Besides having a lack of seats on the visiting side, the stands sit almost below field level making the first 3-4 rows of seats with very poor visibility. For a game at this stage of the playoffs, this is unaccectable. Then there are the light poles in the field of vision on both sides. Restroom facilities (portajohns) on the visitors were a joke. As for bringing in additional seating for the game, when those stands are so low that you can't see over the players on the sidelines why bother? The OHSAA really dropped the ball in awarding Ashland a game at this time in the playoffs. Mansfield, Medina, Tiffin , Fremont or Marion are all better sites than Ashland. Very dissapointed with the OHSAA.

I agree that we had a bad view of the game. There are also no easy exits off the visitors bleachers. We needed to get out of the game promptly at the end, you have to push through the crowd all the way to one end to get out. I'm surprised there isn't some regulatory agency jumpin on that one. My wife was really peeved about the porta johns, did not bother me but I wasn't waiting in line at halftime either. They had to walk all the way across. This isn't the best venue for a ballgame.
Fremont's visitor side isn't all that good either. Tiffin is the best of these venues, but a long drive for the opponent. If they're doing the best the can, no problem, if not, why not?

Really, no one to date? We keep hearing that week after week and that was a maybe a good argument during the regular season.

Two weeks ago the folks picking Shadyside said GCC had played 'no one', then last week Malvern people saying the same thing. For you to say Shadyside and Malvern are also "no one" is an insult to those programs and those young men.

Dave 33, I think it is an insult for you to say St.Paul is on the same level as those three teams listed. The last 3 times these kids have been eliminated it was only by a team who was in the finals, one of those was by the state champs. Watch the Malvern and Shadyside game highlights again. To me both teams (Mal and Shady) played sloppy, not to say GCC didn't earn those wins. I would just say those teams came in over confident and were shocked. NOW SP posters may be very confident (and I think that this is an earned right), but coaching staff and players are not over confident. They practice the same for a team thats 0-9 as they would for a team that's 9-0. I don't see St.Paul losing this one though, and if they do lose... like I said, I will be rooting for GCC in the finals, and be on here at midnight following the loss to take it.

Talking about Newark Catholic's tradition?!? Now the only thing that is missing from this thread is a MAC fan coming on here and saying that the winner of this game doesn't stand a chance next week. Like I said before, I don't know a whole lot about GCC. I do know a decent amount about St. Paul and there is not a team in D6 that can totally shut down NSP's offense. St. Paul has so many weapons and so much speed it is scary. Region 23 hasn't received much respect this year, it is up to GCC to earn it for the whole region. I cannot wait until Saturday night. GO FLYERS!

Rosecrans didn't look past GCC, they just couldn't handle them. Rosecrans won a tight one in week 8 against GCC 10-7. They knew what they were in for, couldn't stop it. It would be great to see a Grove City title after all the trouble with the SW district this year. Good luck GCC.

Shadyside didn't look past GCC either. They just prepared the best they could. Just wasn't enough. Best of luck to both teams and NO INJURIES. "If you get beat, get beat by the best." GCC by 6.

It does happen, that's what makes HS football the best. I'll be there for all six title games. If St. Paul makes it, I'll be routing for you. I'll be pulling for central Ohio first then the underdog after that, either way I'll be routing for the winner of this game. Delphos will be the biggest favorite of all 6 divisions, they're that good. I felt Ada would get them this year if anyone could, I was close to being right (34-31 OT) but wrong.

Learn to read. I NEVER said that Shadyside and Malvern were on the same level as blessed NSP. I was responding to the statement (we hear every week) that those teams were "no one". I'll stick by my statement that that IS an insult to those two programs!

Highlights from Malvern game: 1:08 overthrown reciever, 1:52 fumble, 2:08 muffed punt, 2:56 over thrown again, 3:15 OSLB doesn't stay home and loses contain, 3:41 underthrown reciever, 6:27 throws into triple coverage. It only takes 2 or 3 mistakes to change a game and I just gave you 7 from the highlight tape alone I can imagine there were more than that.

Maybe you're mistaking "overconfidence" with team pride and wishful thinking. I don't think any NSP fans have said we were going to roll in this game, like all other team-faithful posters, they are picking their own team by a score or less even. Which I hope they would, or else they are just bad fans.

And us St.Paul fans have had those games where we've been beaten straight up (Marion Local) and the ones where we play sloppy and lose momentum because of a muffed punt, missed kick, blotched punt snap, even a missed blocking assignment that would have, if executed properly, sealed a touchdown.

No one has said that GCC can't win this, have people said it will be harder for them to win this than it will be St.Paul yes.

Yes GCC has no time locked tradition going back years and years. But they have been INNOVATIVE this year they have shown how old school tradition can be to set in it's ways.

My only point was that THIS year the teams GCC have beaten have not been very impressive, thats all. Who gives a crap if those last 3 teams won the special olympics in 1988??? They are not overly strong THIS year. Prove me otherwise.

Our supermodel is prettier than yours? that cracks me up I totally agree on the comments about the stadium. While the field itself was pretty good, whomever is unlucky enough to be the visitors gets stuck with crappy stands and fans that are split up all over the place. Kind of takes the 12'th man out of the game crowd-wise. And those stupid light poles blocked my view all night long! The supplemental seating they brought in was so far away from the action they might as well have been in the parking lot. 2 porta jons for the visitors with lines so long I gave up. I like the location though, and this could be fixed with additional seating and moving the lights.

Jawz, I was walking to the porta jons and there was no line and then these two youngsters sprinted by me. I considered racing them to get to it first though! Also, I sat on the home side last years Malvern-HL game and don't even remember if the home side had bathrooms I still can only remember portable ones.
