I thought Rolen made the wrong choice going for the DP, but they pulled it off!

Scott Rolen again!...Phillips made a very good and strong turn....nice play by both to get Lee out and set up more heroics.

replay shows Rolen didn't have a great angle to go home

When is the last time you saw a 3rd baseman "circle" the ball to get the angle on the throw? Great play by Rolen and Phillips.

these stupid Cubs' pitcher keep getting strikes and flailing swings and then they hang and Gomes and now stubbs have chipped in

Can't hang pitches in the big leagues.

Stubbs must steal.

Because, unlike Dusty, he made the decision early to circle the ball and go for the DP! I think its an easy throw home for the tag if he chooses early(on contact) to go to home.

I have trouble second guessing Rolen on that play.....I'd much rather have a good angle to Phillips for teh turn than an iffy angle on two throws for the catcher to turn it to 1st base.

Rolen avoided the runner....going home would've put the runner potentially in the way twice as opposd to once at 2nd...which Phillips is far more used to than Corky

DOesn't matter...nice play Rolen and Philips

Why didn't Cabrera take that 1-2 pitch for the team. He laid off a tough 2-2 pitch but couldn't on a worse 3-2 pitch.
